The first thing that catches the eye about Bussey is his burst. He hits the hole with some explosiveness. He also has the speed to separate and run away from the defense. His versatility is also a big weapon. He is a very skilled receiver, whether it is in the screen game or down the field. Then there is his build. At 5-foot-8, 198-pounds, he has a stout build. He is a ball of muscle and he does not give defenders a big target. He also stated that he'll visiting ND for an OV within the next couple of weeks. I would bet he makes the Stanford or UNC list. I put the probability of that quite high, IMO.

One fan base that should be on edge a little bit is Nebraska. Rumors have been swirling about four-star running back Kendall Bussey and the possibility that he may be looking around and taking other visits. Additional offers have been coming in since his commitment to the Cornhuskers back in February, but it was a more recent one from Notre Dame that really got the rumor mill flowing and it appears that Bussey will visit the Irish, Texas Tech and Arizona State in addition to a trip to Lincoln. I still think he sticks with Nebraska and it must help the situation for the Cornhuskers that Bussey continues to be able to watch current running back Ameer Abdullah put up pinball numbers in Lincoln. But watch out for Texas Tech here. And Texas A&M could be the next to jump in the race.

Also the most recent Scout article indicates he may or may not visit ND. It has been unclear and he didn't really answer the question when asked by a Nebraska site. Time will tell.

And a little more background on him (Kendall Bussey has become a bigger back, but still is speedy:

It helps having a dad who has been through it.

Kendall Bussey Sr. was a star running back at Shaw who went on to play at Colorado and then Northeast Louisiana (now Louisiana-Monroe) before playing with the Oakland Raiders and the Minnesota Vikings.

“My dad has been a big help,” Bussey said. “I don’t know what I’d do without him honestly. He has been showing me the ins and outs and what to look for.”

He also gives him pointers on football, although the two are entirely different types of backs.

“Actually he is a total different back than I was,” said Kendall Bussey Sr. “We have similar vision, but I was more of a power back, a 230-pound bruiser. Kendall is more of a Marshall Faulk or LaDanianian Tomlinson type.”

Not sure we've had a back like him since I can recall. He's diminutive in stature, but the dude has insane burst, speed and quickness. Plus, he looks like he has solid hands. With him in the backfield, you basically have an extra slot receiver as well as a RB.

Might have been a different story if we had a QB still committed at this point in the season (when a QB has been seen excelling in our system) and/or if QBs didn't all commit really early.

And one of our big competitors for a '16 QB also has a QB in the Heisman chase (FSU/Winston).

For the love of all that is good in this world, don't label him as a "Notre Dame Man" before he signs paperwork.
