I thought it was an excellent rebuttal. Nothing further needed to be said.

It wasn't rebuttal. It was agreement.

They were your words. He concurred.

You guys know what he meant. Just because you don't agree with his point of view, doesn't mean that he doesn't deserve the same amount of respect that you would want for yourself.

I must be narrow minded but I still don't see any benefit up to this point at ND. If you're worried about not getting up to 85 scholarships then spend a scholly on a kid who's a freak athlete with no football background. Find a freaking Bruce Heggie for all I care - somebody with size/measurable that makes sense to offer. Mike Anello caliber special teams player? Mike Anello was a fucking boss - we'll see if Fertitta becomes as accomplished as a guy who didn't have a scholarship to play at ND until his senior season.

Allow me to expand upon what LAX said, without coming off like a dick.

I think it is a bit narrow-minded to find NO benefits for ND in this commitment. There are always inevitably going to be scholarships open, so why not take a flier on a guy who not only flies around and hits hard (though with terrible form), but who is also dedicated to recruiting for his class, and also brings some extra exposure via his name?

And I appreciate the sentiment of finding a "physical freak with no football background" to try and groom, but at this point, as the program is trying to build depth, I think many would find it hard to complain about signing a guy with (maybe) limited physical upside but a whole lot of experience.

Jimmy Graham's are not easy to find, but getting a guy like Nicco, who has knowledge and experience in the game, is a much safer bet in terms of using a scholarship.

Just got flagged for a late, out of bounds hit on Waller. Also got wiped out on a 50 ya Waller TD run by what appeared to be a clip. Nice open field tackle on Waller and nice deflected pass. 27-20 Gorman in 3rd.

He had two hits that might have got him ejected for targeting. He is small but boy he hits hard. Plays with lots of emotion as if people are doubting him.

I have a feeling he will get a rude awakening when he gets to ND. Coaches most likely will put a stop to that and keep him off the field until he can prove to not lead with helmet. Kid still brings it on his hits though, got to love it!

The hit in question actually looked pretty clean. He lowered his helmet a bit, but it didn't look anywhere close to targeting.

IDK. That hit is questionable. Not sure if leading with helmet or making a big play. He is gonna have to to clean it up in NCAA.

I thought Nicco's head was off the the left of the other player and he hit the kid square with his shoulder but it's really hard to tell without slowing it down.

It looks to me that he put the crown of his helmet on the ball. I guess the thing I noticed first was the receiver "freezing" on his back, and that is like sure-fire sign of unconsciousness but then he pops right up after...so...beats me.

Thats what it looks like to me. He puts his head down but actually wraps his arm around the defender's body. I love the intensity. I've always been told that its easier to reel a kid in that to turn one up.

Your guys eyes must be better than mine. I can't argue with the flag.

Gorman went into overtime tonight to win 23 to 20, Nicco forced a fumble to give Gorman the win in overtime.

Playmaker. If he learns how to keep his head up and put his face on the football when he flies around with all that power, rather than risking helmet-to-helmet, I'll be "We-might-have-our-own-Honey-Badger" jacked up.
