We lead over Michigan at the moment. Won't be deciding until next year so a lot could change. My intial feeling is this one will come down to the local powers and I think OSU will have more of a say if they choose to later on.

I dont Ohio St will be much of a player here.

I don't either. Especially after they tank the season with Miller being out. Shame of it is, with their schedule, they will probably still win 10 games.

It's more likely that pOSU isn't that interested. Supposedly they are near the top for Nick Bosa, Kyree Campbell, Johnathon Cooper and Prince Sammons.

If pOSU offers, Robertson would be very interested.

Got it, I wasn't thinking of it from that angle.

Any reason in particular you say this? Thats against the general consensus and he's publicy stated they are his childhood favorite.

Just in discussing his recruitment, I dont think Ohio St will be a player. I think he really connects with other staffs better.

You guys need to remember what high school he goes too. I mean I don't know jack about his recruitment but just look at what high school he goes too. It's been a feeder school for us lately.

It's not a guarantee, but it certainly doesn't hurt.

He goes to Wayne High School which has probably never sent anyone to Notre Dame for football.

He's part of the AWP 7 on 7 team however, which definitely is in our favor.

The kid has routinely gushed about pOSU and has come right out and said if he got an offer from them that they would vault to number one. Obviously as time passes things can change and we can win a head to head against pOSU, but it would be foolish to dismiss them as not a major player here if they were to offer.

Wayne has barely sent anybody on to D1 football let alone Notre Dame. That being said Fort Wayne has been pumping out a ton of talent since Eifert and Goodman hit the scene a few years ago. I honestly think it has everything to do AWP and Mike Ledo though.

Before he came along the top talent in the area was limited by what resources their own high schools had available, and while some were decent, most were pretty bad at preparing the local high school talent for the next level. AWP has been able to step in and fill the need for professional level athletics training to take the local talent to the next level.

The level of effort required by the AWP staff just to work there is above and beyond that of any high school coach in the area. This standard has definitely raised the level of competition in city from decent to well above average for the state. Not to mention the fact that if you did not come from a good financial situation Mike would work with you to make sure that money wasn't the thing stopping you from achieving your goals.

AWP, and Mike Ledo in particular, has better college coach contacts than almost any high school coach around because of the amount of traveling the 7 on 7 team does and the amount of athletes they have sent to major programs. The exposure that he can give to the top talent in the area is unlike anything that was available before because coaches just didn't stop by the Wayne's and Carroll's of the city. This exposure and level of competition that is provided to these kids as far more than has ever been achieved before they got their. The coolest part is that we were able to meet and workout with our future competition in the off season which led to more intense and personal rivalries in the fall. Plus a unique respect and friendship that would not have ever occurred when all the schools were stuck in their own silos.

I dunno, this all sounds like a weird AWP plug, and it kinda, but im also a little drunk and it amazed me to see a kid from Wayne as a 4* recruit so I just had to let out this weird AWP alumni pride rambling. The fact is that this kinda thing just didn't happen before they got there.

It is really interesting to me to see the how much AWP has changed the level of competition in Fort Wayne since they first came on the scene my sophomore year in high school. 10 years ago, it would have been unheard of to have kids from Wayne and Carroll going to top level schools for football because of the lack of exposure, professional level training programs, and general mentoring that Mike does for the kids who train there. Now it seems to be the norm to have 2-4 kids from Fort Wayne every year that go on to play major college football were it only happened every 5 years or so before. /end weird AWP rant

I 100% agree with everything you said here. There arent many places in the nation that offer what AWP is offering these kids. People on IE are familiar with Core6 athletes based out of Chicago, but AWP does it completely different.

AWP is like a small ND reallly. The staff there builds GREAT relationships with the kids and families. The huge difference for me is just the way they care about the kids. They are setting the kid up for success in the moment but also 30 years down the line with the way they teach.

Ledo and Dre Muhammad are two of the best. I suspect Robertsons game will really take off next fall once he really gets involved in the AWP program this offseason. The transformation of Drue Tranquill in a year and half was pretty remarkable.

Four-Star 2016 Defensive End Auston Robertson Loves Ohio State Visit | Eleven Warriors

Ohio State hosted the Hoosier State's top two 2016 prospects yesterday during as Austin Mack and Auston Robertson made the trip to Columbus together. According to Mack, the Buckeyes were planning on making the trip a memorable one for his 6-foot-5, 230 pound defensive-end-friend.

I got to talk with Coach (Urban) Meyer pregame, and our conversation was basically about Auston (Roberston) because Ohio State is about to offer him.

That offer didn't happen unfortunately as post-game obligations of the coaching staff kept them from talking with the Wayne High School star. The lack of an offer (at this point) didn't hamper Robertson's experience.

"I loved it," Robertson told Eleven Warriors. "The crowd was the best part. Their student section was great."

Robertson did get some time pregame with Ohio State's head coach.

"I got to talk with Urban Meyer before the game," he said of what made the biggest impression from this trip. "Talking to him, and just watching their defense, seeing how well they played."

Ohio State's strong defensive line had another good game, but as their depth issues continue to be pointed out by talking heads, Robertson says it makes no difference to him.

"I'd have to go in and compete for playing time where ever I went," he said of Ohio State's depth. "It doesn't bother me if a position is loaded or if it's not."

Robertson, like his traveling parter Mack, got to spend a lot of time with the Buckeyes' team.

"They were all super cool," he said of his time with current players. "I loved it. I'm supposed to call the coaches today around 5:00 p.m. I'm hoping they offer."

Fort Wayne has always had the talent. It was getting the rough edges smoothed out. St. Francis is always one of the top NAIA teams in the country and typically their roster is loaded with FW kids. AWP appears to be doing a good job of smoothing out the edges.

It was reiterated in TV today that sources close to Mack say OSU leads, Wiltfong speaking, and I think if that were to play out Auston would follow. Hope that changes in the next 6-9 months.

Definitely wouldn't surprise me if Auston would choose pOSU IF he is offered. Right now there is no guarantee that he ever gets his offer. pOSU is pretty confident on getting a full DL class with the offers that they already have out.

It does seem like they do a great job. What do they charge for their programs? I'm sure it varies but this type of training and expertise can't be cheap. Hell, you pay $200-$250/month for a crossfit membership in my neighborhood with very limited personal attention.
