The Grateful Dead, at Shoreline Amphitheater in 1992, was a great show. I will never forget my first concert; Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers on their Southern Accents tour. So many good shows... I saw this group named "Pearl Jam", at the Ventura theater in Ventura, CA. I had never heard of them, and loved the show. About a week later, KLOS radio announced that they had released a debut album titled "Ten". The BoDeans usually put on great shows. I also will never forget seeing Springsteen(Born in the USA tour), with 80,000 of my closest friends, at Municipal Stadium in Cleveland, OH.

Yeah that Born in the USA tour was awesome. I saw that in Seattle while stationed at Ft Lewis Wa.

U2 Elevation Tour (Staples Center)-post 9/11....was in our company suite and when they ran the names of all who perished I looked around and everyone was crying even our company president. So emotional!

Bowie....what more needs to be said. I saw him in Anaheim. What an entertainer and a true rock star.

Fishbone....I saw them several times, but the show at CS Fullerton got so out of control it was stopped midway through.

Iron Maiden...a buddy of mine got us a working pass from his friend at Sony Records for their show years ago at Irvine Meadows. Pretty cool being able to have a run of arena (backstage, front row). The sound waves from the crowd coming towards the stage where as loud as the Marshall's stacked to the ceiling.

Smashing Pumpkins October '93 at a tiny club in Madison WI... I think it was a make-up show of some kind since Siamese Dream had come out a couple months before and the band was huge at the time... no business playing such a small space at that time. I started out 2nd row center and lasted about 3 songs before I backed out of that pit. Caught the rest of the show a bit further back in the room. Can't stand the band anymore, but at the time it was pretty incredible.

But... that show was nothing compared to Nirvana at the Aragon in Chicago later that month. It was Oct 23rd 1993... 3 days after I turned 21... senior year at ND... watched the Irish beat USC during the day and raced to Chicago that night and got to the Aragon just in time to catch Nirvana. No concert has ever lived up to that one... No video of that show but there is some audio-

I saw Guns N Roses open for Aerosmith in 1989. Also saw Metallica in 1988 with the Monsters of Rock Tour with Van Halen. Both were great shows.

Thanks for the memories.

I was probably too broke (or stoned) to attend either.

I did catch Jethro Tull. I left wondering what "Thick As a Brick" would be when carved into individual cuts. The bass player for the opening group, Wild Turkey, was fucking amazing! The Jimi Hendrix of bass.

Then there were the Midwest Blues Festivals in Stepan Center. Howlin' Wolf, Hound Dog, Houston Stackhouse, etc.

Too many. Too much. Too Dead.

I've been to close to 200 concerts. I went to my first concert when I was in the 3rd grade, May 15, 1990. Kiss, Faster Pussycat & Slaughter. All three bands had A smash hit on radio & MTV. I begged my parents for weeks to let me go and they finally caved. I went with my best friend and his older brother and wife.

Eventually I was going to more and more concerts during junior high, but once I bought my first vehicle and I was to concerts non stop. I've seen many bands several times. Cheap Trick, Alice Cooper, Kiss, Mötley Crüe.

Concerts that really stand out.

Alice Cooper. AMAZING! Highly recommend going to see him.
Shows in Kalamazoo, South Bend, Fowlerville
Kiss Reunion Tour 1996 Pittsburgh Civic Arena
Kiss Alive 35 2009 Cobo Hall
Prince 1998 The Palace
Mötley Crüe Carnival of Sins Grand Rapids. Van Andel
Vanessa Carlton wsg Maroon 5 Detroit St. Andrews Hall (Maroon 5 were UNKNOWN)
Megadeth, Pantera wsg White Zombie 1993 Pine Knob (White Zombie was Unknown)
Anytime I've seen Cheap Trick!!!

Awesome! If I remember correctly that bill had Van Halen, Scorpions, Dokken, Metallica, and Kingdom Come? Wish I was old enough then!

Cheap Trick opened for Aerosmith at that concert I mentioned above, they were definitely great. Some MILF flashed her cans for Cheap Trick, but didn't do it for Aerosmith  I'm pretty sure she was intoxicated.

I'd love to see Kiss and Alice Cooper.

Cheap Trick rules! I've seen them as headliners or supporting act 37 times.

I missed out on Kiss/Def Leppard tonite in Detroit. My wife and I are expecting our first baby. We're 3 weeks until due date. Too far from home.

Alice Cooper, GO SEE HIM!

Blink 182 on their reunion tour made my life complete.
Brand New for he first time last November at Bogarts in Cincy was such a life changing experience.
Smashing Pumpkins on their reunion tour in 07 at the Orange Peel in Asheville,NC was incredible. 3 1/2 hour set including 1 1/2 hour encore.
.....
And to be honest I went to Bonnaroo for this first time this June...and even though the people there arent my scene, I thought it was fantastic. Kanye,Elton John, Jack White, Mastodon,Cage The Elephant, Cake, Chvrches,....so many good bands.

There were some amazing World Series of Rock, in the mistake by the lake in the mid 70's.

Saw Janis and Jimmi in Toledo, within six months of their passing (each.)

Speaking of Toledo, used to watch Peter Frampton at the old Agora Draft House, for a $3 cover.

Course I was spoiled, listening to Walsh, Vitale, Frampton, Derringer, and Nugent, all before they were popular, and a garage band in the area, who's founder went off to found another band, Boston, Tom(my) Scholz.

Stones in The Silverdome. Iggy Pop started the show off and I was not impressed. But then Santana was the 2nd band and they were worth the ticket price alone. The Stones are my favorite band and they were better than I could have imagined. Jumpin Jack Flash is a must see in concert. Back in the good old days when you could see 3 bands for $19.

Coheed and Cambria 2009 at the Croc Rock in Allentown, PA. Their albums are just amazing. Live they are even better. The energy the band puts out there is electric.

Also Coheed and Cambria with Circa Survive at the Electric Factory in Philly in 2010.

Best show I ever attended was the Stones in '89 at Legion Field in Birmingham with Living Color opening for them. A close second was Skynyrd at an all-day outdoor show in '75 (my first concert).

Kiss in '76 was something to behold! As several friends & I were trying to make our way out of the arena after the Kiss show, I reached around one of my friends and pinched the butt of a girl standing in front of him. She turned and glared at him. When she turned back, I did it again and she wheeled around and slapped the crap out of him. To this day he still has no idea why. :)
