This why I love this board. All of this was back in October.

Maybe someone needs to slip Kelly a note to come check out some of the ideas. Of course, keep him away from gameday threads... that may bring out the purple face again.

There's a reason our rep bars say 'should be giving advice to Kelly!'.

I'm telling you I was at the pinstripe bowl so I could see the whole field. CJ was wide open all game come out of the slot. Either he wasn't the primary or secondary WR or Tommy just didn't trust him.

I remember you posting something about that after the game. As mentioned before, this move is a by-product of the staff liking where they stand with the other WR's and wanting to get the best players on the field.

Word is that he is starting. Pretty impressive for such a quick turnaround.

Now, I worked all day, and I find out some info and come here to post it for you ungrateful son's a bitches and all I hear is criticize, criticize, criticize. From now on, don't ask me or mine for nothin'.

I searched long and hard for the past minute for a gif of that scene but couldn't find it.

How long has he been getting first team reps? I haven't heard anything until today about it until I read a random off hand tweet. Was under impression that Turner was getting all the reps.

I didn't hear Kelly announce him as starter just in the mix. BK just said that JO, Councell, and Turner were in the mix. (at least that's what I heard him say)
Not that I would mind it, I like the speed.

And if I remember right Rice runs the hell outta the ball. so probably want some beef in there.

Rice ran the ball 699 times for 3183 yds last year averaging 50 rushes for 227 ypg.

They ran for 415 yds, 6.0 ypc against LaTech and 409 yds, 6.1 ypc against NMSt and 306 yds, 6.0 ypc against A&M.

Tulane held them to 124 yds on 55 rushes, 2.3 ypc while MissSt stifled them allowing only 61 yds on 32 rushes, 1.9 ypc.

Rice's leading returning rusher is 5-7 195 So RB Jowan Davis, 476 yds, 5.0. The second leading returning rusher is 5-10 195 So RB Darik Dillard 396 yds, 4.8 ypc.

6-0 205 Jr QB Driphus Jackson, last year's backup QB ran for 156 yds, 5.8 ypc.

This was the impression I had, as well.

then he went on to state, that against bigger teams Ben would be the man

Zactly! He also went on to say how tough and smart James was. Particularly tough.

My own impression is that BK thinks this is a particularly tough team, and it gets that attitude from a lot of the young guys.

How is James? Did he pass his after game protocol? Kid had a MONSTER GAME!! Onwualu has speed, endurance (which is an underrated asset for linebackers), strength (unnatural) and is putting together playing the position pretty darned well. I am hoping he is well. I think he is ready to blow up and be a big contributor down the stretch.

Martini has size, speed, and a football IQ pretty close to Joe Schmidt's. He flat outran Navy skilled players regularly. Granted they were Navy, but for a guy that big, and that smart it is incredible.

I would be afraid of Nyles Morgan. Right now, if I were an opponent or a coach. Hopefully, he will figure out where he is supposed to be sooner than later. And if he ever learns how not to over pursue, he will be deadly! Between Smith, Onwualu, Martini, and Morgan, there is serious AA potential. That is why Schmidt works in so well with any of them.

I hope Schmidt is okay, but I think VanGorder has the pieces. We will find out against AZ STATE because I have a feeling Onwualu, and Schmidt will both be out! At least we will run a 4-2-5 most of the time!

We should be showing this video to every recruit, especially those considering state schools like OSU and MSU. Graduation rates and lifetime earnings look great on paper, but ultimately they are just numbers. Having internship opportunities at both BofA and Morgan Stanley is tangible and demonstrates the strength of our alumni base. James' story is a great example of the benefits of the 40 year decision paying off in Year 2.
