Still dodging this admin and illegal immigration. Wanna go on a trip to the southern border and check out what's happening? I doubt CNN and MSLSD are covering it.

This administration has deported way more than the last. Not in front of a tv at the moment. Why not just say what you are talking about?

Edit: just saw you posted an article. I will give it a read.

Here is the problem :

RICHMOND, Va. (AP) — In an upset for the ages, Majority Leader Eric Cantor of Virginia, the second-most powerful man in the House, was dethroned Tuesday by a little-known, tea party-backed Republican primary challenger carried to victory on a wave of public anger over calls for looser immigration laws.

"This is a miracle from God that just happened," exulted David Brat, an economics professor, as his victory became clear in the congressional district around Virginia's capital city.

Speaking to downcast supporters, Cantor conceded, "Obviously we came up short" in a bid for renomination to an eighth term.

The victory was by far the biggest of the 2014 campaign season for tea party forces, although last week they forced veteran Mississippi Sen. Thad Cochran into a June 24 runoff, and hop State Sen. Chris McDaniel can prevail then.

Cantor's defeat was the first primary setback for a senior leader in Congress in recent years. Former House Speaker Thomas Foley of Washington and Senate Democratic leader Tom Daschle of South Dakota both lost their seats at the polls in the past two decades, but they fell to Republicans, not to challengers from within their own parties.

There is no miracle from God. As there is little truth in the partisan politics blathered nationally, or here for that matter.

It is all a load of crap. Expensive crap, albeit, but crap never the same. What most people take as truth is what has been bought and paid for to appeal to the sensibilities of many. The irony of cold war thrillers where someone's perceptions were altered to make them a dangerous weapon have been realized. Only it isn't an alphabet organization that did the programming, it is good old Madison Avenue. Turning less (for your money) into more, convincing you that your teeth are not white enough, your breath is too bad, and people will actually like the smarmy pile you are if you own the right things or belong to the right club. And that you need someone to protect you from the evil, all the time convincing you that lifesaving services are too expensive to maintain. And that your rights are important, more so than that other guy, whose rights fly in the face of yours!

Keep it up, see what is left.

This is a perfect example. A key Republican player fell today; one that would really be needed for a 2014 victory. 70 - 80% of the people are dead set against the tea party. Some even know why. They are the mouthpiece for big money, and have no populist agenda, whatsoever. The disease spreads. More money. Better strategy. Will the rank and file Republican jump on the tea party bandwagon? That remains to be seen.

My jaw dropped when I came back from the Y and my roommate told me, I'm just stunned.
What makes this even more amazing is that Brat won with only spending around 200k to Cantors 5M AND that Brat didn't have the national Tea Party's behind him.

Now Obama will be using Executive Action and bypassing Congress on immigration, this result will have far reaching implications in Washington.

Yeah, I think both Bush and Obama are/ were in over their heads and it showed. It's just infuriating to me how srewed up things are right now.

There isn't a human being alive that wouldn't be in over there head as president of the United States.

And it will get worse. Can you imagine what it must be like to focus in that position? Information travels so fast and the world issues never stop. I'd guess we evaluate our presidents performance on less than 5% of what they actually are involved with. Presidents today probably have more information and issues presented to them in a month than Washington or Lincoln did in all of their time in office. We literally try to be involved in or aware of every fkn thing going on, on this planet.

Wasn't it Harry Truman that visualized the presidency being split three ways? Anyone remember that?

Unfortunately you're right (sigh). Selecting competent cabinet members and having a clear, concise and executable domestic/foreign policy will definitely help to keep the missteps and mistakes down, but crap will still happen.
You want to be nimble enough in your organization to be able to reallocate resources when issues pop up, but in some cases too many things go wrong and over whelm your team. I can only imagine how difficult it would be at that high of a level. That's why having strong leadership is so key.

If we're taught that the government can and will help us all and if an individual goes around this country and world for years telling us he will, as the figurative and literal head of that government...why should we not believe him?

As we invite and accept the government more and more into our personal, private, public, and professional lives, of course we will keep looking to blame somebody when the government shits the bed and screws up in their ever-growing reach of our lives.

This isn't some anarchist or strict libertarian viewpoint (I'm neither of those). And this isn't directed solely at our current president. This is common sense.

Of the people, by the people, for the people.

We have only ourselves to blame.

Absolutely, Bob.

Sadly, I truly and honestly don't think many people in our country can actually comprehend this though.

Didn't realize the Bergdahl could be getting backpay of $300,000 and another $300,000 if he's determined to be a POW and the Army leaders approve.
Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl Back In U.S. To Continue Medical Treatment « CBS DC

Officials also said Thursday that the Army has not yet formally begun a new review into the circumstances of Bergdahl’s capture and whether he walked away without leave or was deserting the Army when he was found and taken by insurgents.

The answers to those questions will be key to whether Bergdahl will receive more than $300,000 in back pay owed to him since he disappeared. If he was determined to have been a prisoner of war, he also could receive roughly another $300,000 or more, if recommended and approved by Army leaders.

Kind of like Texas Republicans adopting "Conversion Therapy" as a part of their plank without debate or discussion. So the powers that be want to promote homosexuality as a disease . . . .

Yes, politicians pandering to extreme fringe elements of their party is the same thing as paying a deserter $300,000 for back pay.

How many mixed up kids that feel stigmatized by being labeled diseased will need to commit suicide for you to see that there is more than one life and death situation that is being pandered for by half-assed politicians?

These kids are our children and our neighbors, and regardless of how you feel about homosexuality, they are not questionable citizens. Yet they are also being put in harms way, for political gain. Oh wait a minute. Your traitor is not being put in harms way.

Sorry, I used life and death as my criterion, not dogma.

I have no idea what this has to do with Bergdahl other then trying to distract from the subject we've been discussing.

The subject we have been discussing? What subject? Whether or not the President is a clown, from the same partisan group that defended GWBush until nearly the end?

The US brings everyone back within its capability. Always been that way, more so with today's technology. If you want to debate whether this guy is a traitor, cracked under pressure, or was taken POW, fine.

To show you how emotional and off kilter this conversation has become, some have likened this guy to the Fort Hood killer, and inferred that the Fort Hood killer had pay coming after his adjudication!

Where what I am simply pointing out is that we have over 10,000 issues to solve that are costing lives, and some politicians, particularly devoid of moral compasses or intelligence are actually hurting constituents with their agendas.

And to take it one step further, let me ask you who is providing them support and impetus to carry on? Ask Bob D! (Reps, sir.)

I have been very critical of the manner in which the whole swap took place. As a former serviceman, I understand the need to bring our soldiers back. I don't know if I agree with how it was handled and how Congress was not informed. With that said, I have also been pretty open about Bergdahl himself. Let the story play out, get all the facts, and then act upon that information. Lots to go on this story... let's get it all out before we rush to judgement on either side of the political aisle.

I was fine until he killed a kid with it.

As long as he is not breaking any laws with it, then it is fine? That's what you said about Black Panthers and baseball bats.

And, according to the law, what Zimmerman did was legal.

Bergdahl held in solitary confinement for 2 years, officials say | Fox News

American Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl, while held prisoner in Afghanistan, was locked in solitary confinement for two straight years and did not see another human face for that entire time, senior military officials with knowledge of his "reintegration process" told Fox News.

Officials said Bergdahl, during that period, only talked to his captors through the wall of a six-foot-by-six-foot metal box, which he was kept in.

The box was just big enough for him to stand up straight and stretch his arms. If he was ever taken out of the box, Bergdahl was apparently hooded. Bergdahl told officials that this treatment started immediately after he attempted to escape captivity.

"His mental and physical state match this description -- and we believe him from what we see," one official told Fox News.

The details emerged as Bergdahl arrived early Friday at an Army medical center in San Antonio, Texas.

Officials at the medical center plan to discuss his reintegration at 3 p.m. CDT.

Bergdahl was captured in Afghanistan in June 2009 and released on May 31 in a deal struck by the Obama administration in which five Taliban officials were released from detention.

A Pentagon spokesman, Rear Adm. John Kirby, said Bergdahl arrived at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio on a flight from Ramstein Air Base. The 28-year-old Idaho native was expected to be reunited there with his family.

"Our focus remains on his health and well-being," Kirby said, adding that Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel is confident that the Army will continue to ensure that Bergdahl receives the care, time and space he needs to reintegrate.

Bergdahl's family, meanwhile, have asked for continued privacy in a statement released Friday on their behalf by military officials.

"While the Bergdahls are overjoyed that their son has returned to the United States, Mr. and Mrs. Bergdahl don't intend to make any travel plans public," the statement reads. "They ask for continued privacy as they concentrate on their son's reintegration."

It's unclear known how long Bergdahl will remain there or if and when he will be questioned about the circumstances behind his apparently voluntary departure from an Army base in Afghanistan in 2009.

Fox News' Bret Baier and The Associated Press contributed to this report.

I seem to recall that the legality of what he did was in question for quite some time. He was fortunate that the prosecutors were inept. Also, unless you are just interested in semantic arguments, I think we can agree that there is a substantial difference between carrying a baseball bat and using a handgun to kill a teenager.

Who are you to question his intent? The legality of him carrying a concealed weapon was NEVER in question.
