Just curious for the Navy Nuke guys, what did you major in undergrad and what did you thing of the Navy Nuke program? I thought about it for a brief bit, but have kind of shied away from it recently.

I studied southern belles in Charleston.

I went in straight out of high school so I was enlisted, not an officer. I had older brothers who were in the Navy and I kinda always knew that's what I wanted to do. I liked it. Had a lot of fun. Got me a couple of good jobs post-Navy. Go to any nuke plant in the country and half of the operators are ex-nukes.

Emergency medicine. Thank you all in here for letting me blow off steam occasionally after (or during) a particularly stressful shift of putting idiots back together or delivering bad news to somebody's family. If you're ever in the Black Hills and you run your Harley into a tree while drunk or it burns when you pee, come see me.

Law student at a "t14". Will be a summer associate at a mega firm this summer. I will also likely sign over my post-law school life to said firm if things go well.

I was at a major metro newspaper for 4 years as a web designer.

I left that 3 years ago to go to ND law. Going to work in a big firm next year for as long as I can handle. nsideirish, have fun this summer :D i mean, won't be models and bottles...but should be pretty relaxed.

I am a sales engineer for third party qualification and dedication for the nuclear industry. Been here 6 months after 12 years as a Navy Nuke

My man. Currently a process technician for a Fortune 2 company. Previously I was a nuclear plant operator until my plant closed down and previous to that I was a 9.5 year Navy Nuke.

I've been told you're not a real nuke unless you were an ELT.

;)

Ahh the southern belles!!! I also joined right out of high school. I am studying to take the ACT so that I can go to ASU online for Electrical Engineering. Got to work during the day so full time school is not an option.

Some very bright people on this board, I'm impressed. I've been a firefighter for 13 years and probably will for another 17. Good times.

Oh man. I just finished my emergency med rotation an it sure is a special place. There are things that happen there that you won't see anywhere else in society. I have all the respect in the world for you guys.

Another poster, drayer54 (where are you?), is also a former nuke. Small world.

Good luck buddy! I'm 1) not smart enough to get a job at those firms and 2) couldn't take it.

I'm hopefully gonna be a summer associate at a 19 lawyer firm this year. I'm really glad because that's the exact size I was looking for.

Why have we decided to put ourselves through the horror that is BIGLAW? Oh yeah...law school debt.

Congrats! I don't plan on trying to get on partner track or anything. Just want to put in some solid years to pay off school loans and start accumulating some savings then hopefully move to a smaller firm or even an in-house counsel role.

I own and operate several small businesses. Bought in to my main business(the one I work at every day) when I was 20. Still for the most part love it. Don't really like the employees part of it though.
Also have some rental properties, a growing storage business and my newest project a subdivision. Just made the first payment today actually.
