Great album. I ended up purchasing it on vinyl in the 80's just as cd's were coming out. Sadly, I sold my vinyl collection in one lot to a man that came to one of my wife's yard sales. Gave him everything... down to the concert ticket stubs I had placed inside the plastic covers I had the albums in.

On a side note... my first cd purchase was Aldo Nova. "It's just a fantasy" now.

And a little trivia... what does Aldo Nova have in common with Notre Dame?

That guy is probably still furiously rubbing his hands together and cackling maniacally.

Vinyl has made a huge comeback. I am a collector myself, and can tell you, don't go look at what some of those albums go for now. You can get deals here an there, but good condition classics (especially with concert stubs) can go for big bucks. For instance, I got the Beatle's White Album at a thrift shop the other day for $20. It's $80 at my local vinyl shop.

I hate to ask... What did you get for your collection?

Had around 150 albums and he gave me $750 for the whole lot. Made my wife happy but I sure miss them. I used to make my weekly Saturday morning trips into Nashville then to some great record shops. No better way to spend a morning drinking some java and going through old records. And getting the White album for $20 was a great score.

Now, some CD's are starting to climb in price. I am shocked to see what some of them are worth. Makes for a good day hunting but it seems in these parts the music shops are getting less and less. Guess the internet killed a lot of their business.

Vinyl is over-valued now. Usually people want way more than it's actually worth. Like Wooly said, the days of discovering a box at a rummage sale for .25 cents each are long gone. Same can be said for other collectible a like comic books and baseball cards.

I have a closet full of baseball, football, basketball, and hockey cards as well. Well over 100,000 total. I should have let some of them ride when the whole McQuire/Sosa homerun race was going on. I don't think most cards will ever reach that level in price again although some will always remain valuable. It is fun, however, going through them sometimes and reminding ourselves of our youth.

The only cards that are collectible/valuable are pre 1983, before the mass production craze of the 80s took off and ruined the market.

The only real exception to this is a handful of rookie cards from 84-86 (Marino, Elway, Rice, Young, Jordan, etc.)

24 felt like three days ago. My 20's weren't anything but a cool breeze. These are your last years as a young man. They will fly by.
