I would like to know your opinions about 2014 recruits.

Overrated:

Lorenzo Carter - Go watch his film. Rumour is even Kirby Smart does not like him.

Sony Michel - Good player but not special, i think Chubb is better

Joseph Yearby - Small, not so fast.. again good, nothing special.

Underrated:

Chad Thomas - The best DE in the country only behind Garrett.

KD Cannon - A better version of Dontre Wilson.

Clayton Thorson - I like him a lot, little unknown recruit who is committed to Northwestern.

Of ND Class

Overrated:

Deshone Kizer - I do not see an special arm talent, good not great to me.

Underrated:

Kolin Hill - His film looks so much better than most of four even five stars, isn't it? He totally understand the concept of leverage and is aggressive, never looks tentative, i love that.

Kizer can take over the title of "most potential" when Ben graduates next year.

Jeff Jones from Mn looks great on the field. A four star on Rivals so don't know if you could say he is underrated. But it seems he doesn't get attention like others.

With thesis there needs to be specificity. NDinLA and dShans taught me this last year, thanks to both! So when you decry DeShone's arm, I assume you are speaking as a quarterback. You obviously have not seen him throw down field!

I agree with the point that Hill is very underrated. Except I think there are others in that neighborhood, too.

As far as Kizer, he is a four-star that has been dogged the whole way by an element of Irish fans. A state championship and a runner-up in Ohio, is production, (28-2). He was Co-Offensive player of the year. And he is a leader. His stats are consistent with the top twenty quarterback prospects in the nation. He rarely played three-quarters of a game. And if you have ever seen him he has something better than any ND quarterback since Jimmy Clausen. (Yes, I think better than Jimmy.)

I think he has the legs to extend plays and still can find a wide receiver breaking open down field with precision. I believe he got his Dual Threat label, because he could break away from what would be sure sacks for other quarterbacks, and extend plays until one of his receivers broke wide open. Also, this guy runs the ball like a running back, a very large running back. What people don't get is this kids overall athleticism.

He could probably play four or five positions, but he doesn't need to. So for these four reasons, strong arm, escape-ability, running, and overall athleticism, I think as an ND recruit he is underrated, and as a quarterback, he may still be a little low, but has something to prove compared to the best.
