The highest opponent score in those games was 31. A&M already has 38 at the half.
Duke also averaged 31 this year. The first half could just be a huge aberration.

Duke's OC to ND???

I understand all of that. Jeez. I'm not rooting for A&M...just trying to make a guess.
Please don't think I'm coming down on you IrishJay, just really enjoying (and also a bit surprised by) this can of whiparse I see being opened on ESPN's favorite sons!

He's heading to Florida.

The fact that A&M's opponents highest score was 31 actually means something. There is only so much time in a game. Currently, Duke is running the ball like crazy and if A&M is going to make up a 3 TD difference in one half, they better start getting some three and outs. Because time is not on their side right now.
Bulldogs got 41 against the Aggies. Aggies won 51-41.
Auburn topped 40, too. Auburn won 45-41.
The Bulldogs had 14 points at the half.
Auburn had 17 points at the half.
Duke has 38 points at the half.
Again... there is only so many minutes in a football game. Right now, Duke would pretty much have to be shut down and A&M would have to play their best half of football this season.

Question... if this game holds out and Duke wins. Does A&M drop completely out of the year end rankings?
They would have have an 8-5 record without beating a single ranked team.
What your statistics don't account for is, conference affiliation. By that standard the answer would be no they don't drop out. But, if they do somehow slip out they will be reinstated by late August, since they are such a young team with a savvy head coach.
haha...
I actually wouldn't be shocked if thats how they are perceived. The reality is that this is a team with a horrid defense that didn't beat a ranked team all year. But that wont stop the talking heads from trying to shine a turd.
