The kid. Is going. To Ball!
I actually believe that he can be a heisman candidate over the next 2 years if he focuses on the game.
What do you think it will take for him, as far as developmentally, to accomplish such a feat?
He's definitely under the radar and has yet to really define himself as a premier QB.
The BCC championship game v Alabama overshadowed the talent he displayed his first year on the field.
Watching film and understanding what the defense is doing or trying to do. Correctly going through his reads. His talent level is through the roof. He just doesn't understand the game that well yet. I believe he gets there with time and Kelly. If it wasn't for this hiatus we'd be talking about it right now. His arm strength is truly amazing but he also needs to work on accuracy. Fine tuning essentially.
Well, by all accounts, it seems like he's definitely worked on developing that second coat of armor to face the physical punishment. Though it was often fun to see him thrive under the pressure, I'd like to see less broken plays, but as you stated, going through his reads better and an improved receiving corps will help. Honestly, it's pretty exciting to think about this offense moving forward. It's very rich with talent in each position group. I'm genuinely looking forward to seeing how the Oline, Golson and the young backs mesh over the next couple seasons.
Did Whitfield release a public evaluation on Golson to conclude their time working together? It would be interesting to read what he had to say and if he will continue to consult Golson on occasion as he further develops.
Though there are definite question marks, it's difficult not to be optimistic about the future. Hopefully, we're through the worst of storms as a team.
“That’s all the diligence right there, and he took to it. He took to it,” Whitfield said. “He just absorbs everything. That’s the longest I’ve ever spent with a quarterback in a one-on-one setting. We just came through a 10-week run. And he just absorbed everything.”
Sure did. Keith documented it pretty well. Talks about getting him to throw with the laces, learning the game from 30,000 feet, etc. Also interesting to note:

Bleacher report is usually terrible, but that article was very well done. Gives us as fans a lot more insight than usual
