As far as the TheMightyQuinn10 – Quinntastic dynamic is concerned, there may be some stalking involved. In which direction, I have no idea ...

I will openly admit that it was me stalking in his direction.

I'm not ashamed to admit it.

Here goes nearly 2 months of musical exploration (most recent first) (actually most of this was in the past 2 weeks, as I went through a period with little new music/ music at all):

[Bands- most of which are Indie/Folk Rock, some of them are a bit "harder"; Song Rec's in (), though I recommend everything and sometimes one song doesn't stand out, these usually are my favs that aren't the artists most popular]

Little Green Cars (Harper Lee)
Wake Owl (Wild Country, Seaside)
The Smiths
Foxygen (No Destruction)
Langhorne Slim (and Langhorne Slim & the Law)- (Song for Sid, I love you but Goodbye)
Born Ruffians (Needle)
Connor Oberst (Cape Canavaral)
Phosphorescent
Fionn Regan (The Underwood Typewriter)
The National
Bon Iver (check out For Emma acapello on youtube)
Okkervil River (Lost Coastlines)
Wilco (Kamera- the one I've been into most recently; everything is really solid)
Crash Test Dummies

[Now into some older stuff]
Jimi Hendrix (Little Wings, The Wind Cries Mary)
Pink Floyd (Comfortably Numb)
Cat Stevens (Father and Son)
The Kinks
The Turtles (Happy Together, Elenore)

I don't really have the time to go too in-depth on what I've been listening to (as I have in the past), but a lot of the stuff is really worth checking out.

Is it good?

I'm a huge Pearl Jam homer, so you're probably asking the wrong person. I could listen to Eddie Vedder sing the phone book and enjoy it. lol

Seriously though, it has a few good tracks. They obviously sound nothing like they did twenty years ago. Seems like this album is a bit slower than their previous few albums, but there's a few quick tempo songs. Songs I've enjoyed quite a bit so far are "Sirens" and "Getaway".

speaking of...did you see the interview w/ the Pearl Jam and the former saints player diagnosed w/ lou gerhig's disease??? had to hold the tears back

I had not until you posted this, so I checked it out. Very moving and inspiring to say the least. Gleason's attitude throughout his battle has been nothing short of amazing. Seeing things like that really has a way of making you put things in perspective...

Just started listening to the album and I already like it more than their last album. I didn't really like backspacer, thought it was too punky/poppy.

Sirens is pretty good, but that other single "Mind you matters" or something is trash. Right now i'm liking Yellow Moon the best.

I'm not too big into Pearl Jam, but I'm crazy about 90's music and they are the only ones left producing anything close to competent music. I know the Chili peppers are still big but I can't stand them anymore. Seriously every song by them is the same thing "Sex this, drugs that... California baby". And I'm obsessed with the Pumpkins and I give them credit for trying to produce music that is original and new but they are never gonna be the same without the original lineup. Sorry for this "I miss the 90's even though I'm only 21 rant" just this peal jam talk got me in the mood...

Just finished "Swallowed Whole" also a great song on the new album.

This is what happens when I listen to "90's radio" on Pandora at work.

You can bet your a** that I was dancing in the Micro lab to this!

My buddy's band just released their first single off their newest album, I think it's fantastic:

Fingers

Plus a bonus song, also fantastic:

These guys are easily one of the best things going right now IMO... one of the few bright lights in an otherwise dreadful current music scene... Do all yourselves a favor and spend the next 20 minutes... I put some studio and live in there...

This transports me to times I've spent at The Jazz Fest, as well as other night time venues in Nawlins. It's good to hear an organ (not sure if it's a Hammond – don't matter), horn and sax in the mix. The very healthy funk bass lines are also good
sh¡t.

There is hope ...

The damned song from the Apple commercial is stuck in my head. It's not a bad tune, but then again maybe I've been brainwashed?

Saw Santana a couple of times. First time back in the 77 or 78. Was tooting while he was playing. The second time was back around 2000. He certainly makes magic with his guitar.
