Like who? Is Shaw makes a BCS game he'll get offers, likely from those schools already mentioned.

I don't disagree that he won't get offers. But if Texas and USC keep having a bad season they are going to go for a young Home run type coach.

Not taking much away from him but i think some of his success was with left over players. Lets see what he does with his recruits.

I thought the feedback was very positive after in visit in South Bend this summer. The fact that he visited from Texas on his dime is huge. Hopefully, he gets on campus for gameday and see what ND football and the community is all about.

This is a very quiet kid. Hard to have a read on him, but we have a shot there is no doubt.

I don't think Stanford is any head coach's dream job. Whatever his salary is now, Texas, SC, or an NFL team will double, if not triple it.

But he's a Stanford alumnus, so there's always a chance he stays.

It was cancelled before half due to weather.

Interesting. I don't know if the weather this year is just kind of crazy or I'm just paying more attention, but I've noticed/heard of more games delayed, postponed or cancelled due to lightening/weather than ever before and it's not even close (for me).

I was just thinking the same, over the last two seasons. And I don't know that they haven't had the lightening systems installed at all facilities here for less that the last ten years. I don't know about your fields, but here they have systems that detect some combination of the atmospheric disturbance, discharge, and sound. But those systems have been up for a while. The increase has been as you stated just recently.

We are going to try to go tonight to see DeShone Kaiser play at home against Whitmer (2012 Division 1 runner up, same team that played Leurs last year.) Could be a good game, some revenge for the Irish. Bad weather forecast, but who knows?

Anyone watch the game tonight? How did Thomas look? I was forced to watch Bob the Builder for the past two hours and didn't catch the game.

With Coppell leading 10 - 0, the game was halted after the 1st quarter. From the first offensive series, Garland 's stratagem was to avoid Solomon's side of the field. Coppell moved #90 from left to right end, and Thomas was a force. Cam McDaniel's brother, Gavin#4, starts at halfback. Coppell is well coached, and obviously one of the best programs in the country. Like Sheldon Day, Thomas will see line play his freshman year.

Hopefully the staff can hit home with this kid and get him in blue and gold.

I just think as a society today we are much more conservative and cautious when it comes to these type of things. No one wants to take the heat from the public and media because someone was hurt or killed due to the weather.

Visiting Stanford this weekend. Previously said he wasn't going to take visits during the season.

This has been planned for a while. Believe it's his bye week.

He could commit this weekend to the Cardinal. He is a huge lean there right now - I would be shocked if he wound up anywhere else.

Per ESPN, this was his 3rd trip to Stanford all being on his own dime obviously. Enjoyed the game and the atmosphere. It was nice being able to spend time with players. They stress how diverse a place like Stanford is with different cultures and backgrounds. Because this is his 3rd visit a lot of people have Stanford in front, Thomas said that wasn't the case and he continues to operate with the same list of favorties. Thomas said that Stanford, Texas, Oklahoma, Ohio State, Alabama, Arkansas, Notre Dame and UCLA high on his list, and LSU and TCU are still reliable options. Still working on finalizing his 5 official visits for the end of the season.
