Thanks for pointing that out. Makes you appreciate how steady TJ has been throughout his career. Correct me if I am wrong but isn't TJ a four year starter? He has been even better than advertised and this final season should put him down as one of the all time great ND receivers.

could get as high as 2nd...will need to average 4.9 catches per game including a bowl...would be a great accomplishment

He started about half the games as a Fr. and all but 1 or 2 as a So. and Jr.

I'm convinced that TJ is going to make a very solid pro.
He reminds me of Reggie Wayne with his precise routes and great hands.
Put him on a team with a good quarterback and he's going to put up some numbers.

I think he has a decent chance at making it in the NFL, but he is no Reggie Wayne.

He reminds me of former USC and NYG WR Steve Smith. I think TJ is more explosive with the ball in his hands and might be a more explosive athlete, but Steve was a better route runner. Both guys are very reliable with their hands and where they are supposed to be. Like BK said, TJ has a shot at being a 1st rounder and is likely going in that 1st to 2nd round range.

Yeah I can see the Steve Smith from USC comparison. I think 1st 2nd round is high for him though. I can see around the 3rd and 4th round.

Didn't say that he was Wayne, just that he reminds me of him.
I did say that TJ would be a very solid pro.
Wayne isn't a very solid pro, Wayne is a hall of fame pro.

I remember serving TJ Burger King when he early enrolled at ND during my senior year. He was really skinny back then. He has grown both physically and mentally in his 4.5 years at ND and I will enjoy watching him in the NFL for years to come. Kid has amazing hands and will be a huge asset to any team.

He came here January 2010. 4.5 years would make it June 2014.

Well since Longo is having issues, would you consider joining the S & C program being you helped TJ bulk up

No shiit?!?!?

I took the kids to that BK in the LaFortune Center after the Spring Game that year (of his early enrollment) and saw a skinny kid in an oversized varsity jacket, (must have been his dad's) sitting there. Funny story ensued, but it is over-told. But you are right, he looked little, skinny and really young! He still looked like he was going to be somebody.

I love me some TJ Jones but in no way is he a 1st or 2nd rounder. Those picks are reserved for players that have the potential of being a #1 WR on a team. TJ looks more like what a team would want in a #3 WR, and I think some team will be very happy with him in that position, but that probably puts you at a 3rd round pick max.

Michael Floyd and Eifert were 1st rounders. Robert Woods was a 2nd rounder. Nobody can convince me that TJ is of the same caliber as that.

gk, we almost actually met, and all you can do is say bite me to Canadian bacon? I mean Canada loves ND?

(Just teasing Canada!)

If you ate at Lafortune, I almost certainly served you at some point. I was a manager at all of the eateries.

Holy, Shiit, Batman! I was the one with the unruly mob of really good looking kids to whom you were so kind! You remember me, my name was Orange, Agent Orange!

Milestones

TJ Jones recorded a catch in his 36th consecutive game for the Fighting Irish. Jones has had multiple catches in 32 of those 36 contests.

Jones became the 10th ND receiver to surpass the 2,000-yard mark for his career on a 46-yard reception from Rees during the second ND drive of the game.

Jones had his 4th career 100-yard receiving game today, joining his efforts this fall against Temple (138), ASU (135) and AF (104).

Jones's 36-yard TD catch was the 17th of his career and moved him into 8th place passing Jim Seymour.

Jones has now hauled in at least one TD reception in 6 straight games, dating back to the MSU game earlier this season.

Jones passed Golden Tate and Tom Gatewood for 4th on the ND career receptions list (159).

Jones now has 38 games with a catch.

His 3 first half catches makes 168 careerwise, 3 short of third place on the ND Career List
