Our Defense That Bad, Or is Diaco circling the drain?

What the hell are we blitzing off the two ends when Carlo and Fox don't know if their playing linebacker or crapping a tuna salad?

What the hell....

I don't see much leadership stepping up on either side of the ball. I feel like I am watching one of Weis or Willingham's teams.

We miss Manti but I think the team really misses Everett Golson. Our offense is missing a dynamic.

The answer is yes.

Alternatively, the predictability of the offense is the problem.

IMO, not only was Manti that good of a player, he was that invaluable of a leader. Our D has the talent, they just need a leader to step up. Like, right freakin now!

I agree LAX on the first part, but on the second, we haven't stopped anyone all season... Was just looking to problem solve one side of the ball at a time. ;)

We don't have a talent problem. We have a leadership problem. Not only did we lose Te'o, we lost Kapron and Motta who were the leader of each respective unit. This team needs leaders to step up. The talent is there.

Manti was awesome and the unquestioned leader. We dont have a leader anything close to Manti anymore. I also think Diaco was very overrated and just not the great coordinator he was cracked up to be. Hoopefully someone steps up and takes the reins as team leader, just not sure who it would be.

I thought Manti was kinda overrated last year and really didn't deserve so much recognition. I was wrong.

The ILB's and safeties just aren't that good. Russell is struggling. That's half the defense.

I think Diaco needs to scheme better to cover for these weaknesses. Jaylon Smith should never come off the field, especially in passing situations. We should only be rushing three on 3rd & 25 or longer. Ishaq should never be standing up at MLB and then dropping into coverage. Ever. We should be using Ishaq and Shembo with stunts and twists, especially since Nix and Tuitt can quickly occupy two linemen at once.

It's all so vanilla (same goes for offense, tbf).

^This in bold. I don't know why they have him standing up at mlb...kid needs to put his hand in the dirt and rush the passer.
