Jake Brown said that if it was up to Elijah, Nd could probably get him to visit and re-commit. TJ backs this up by saying i'll raise your could and say he "would" if there wasn't one strong influential pressure keeping him home now, that won't change.

Let NC go 8-4, let us go 10 +, have our coaches be consistent in their recruiting ways and stay in positive contact and we still have a chance.

I guess I could see a parent begging the kid to stay right away, but for the next 4 months if the kid's heart doesn't change? That's a travesty if the kid doesn't win out, assuming his #1 doesn't change.

I understand helping your child make a decision, but if Jake is referring to one of his parents trying to keep him at UNC that is very selfish. He's not trying to go across the country to Oregon b/c they have cool uni's (not saying there is anything wrong w/ that), he fell in love w/ ND, and the staff. He can get a good education at UNC, but I truly do feel bad for him if it isn't what he truly wants.

I am going to say girlfriend. They broke up after he decided ND and he has been thirsty for her ever since. (All twitter pick up, but I never tweeted at him)

So, I will go with her being the influence

We don't know enough to know whether it's "BS" or not... if it's his parents and they are forcing UNC on him, then it is indeed a bunch of crap. However, if his parents/gf/whatever want him to stay home but aren't "forcing" it, he could simply be making the decision on his own to please them, which no one is at fault for.

Don't forget that we don't have as much time to flip him again as some may think. He is planning on EEing where ever he goes, at least that is the last I heard. So that would mean we only have another 3 months or so to get him to flip back.

At some point, he gotta man up and do what he thinks is best for him. If he's giving in to pressure already then so be it. Regret is a cold hearted son of a bitch.

Here's my take on it. If it was his girl then somebody should sit him down and tell him that most HS girls are very selfish people and are not worth holding onto. Even if she is worth keeping then over 50% of marriages end up in divorce anyway. Is that worth giving up a dream? And what kind of person tries to hold you back from your dreams? If it's his parents (dad is who i think likely as his comments always seem the most negative about ND) then somebody needs to tell him that the best way to honor your parents is to show them they raised a good man - somebody who is able to make good choices on their own. If they cannot respect your good choices then you will always be held down by them as you try to better yourself in life. And if this is the case somebody needs to have a long talk with his parents about stifling a kids motivation and personal growth by forcing him to be someplace he does not want to be when it should be his choice.

this sounds sooo flaky to me that even if he were to sign with us i think he'd be going back home before the end of his freshman year.

That's what I'm saying. It's BS that someone doesn't want him going where he wants to go. Not sure where the confusion lies.
