Strange thread to start here, I know, but I'm hoping someone out there might have some knowledge they are willing to share.

A good friend of mine is getting married in the Spring and this Fall he requested to go to an SEC game. So about 8 of us are going to UT vs South Carolina. We are currently in the beginning stages of planning the day/tailgate. Is there anything we should know? Is one location better than another?

PM where you're thinking about and I'll give you all the advice I can. I know the campus like the back of my hand. The second best gameday experience I've been to. Get there early, the pregame band show is one of the best in the country.

GH knows the campus much better than me, but I can probably help too. I've had season tix to UT for at least 5 years now, and was going to games with another buddy who has season tix before that. I'm partial to tailgating with the RV crowd for several reasons. And I agree with GH on it being the second best game day experience. PM if you'd like and I'm happy to answer any questions, and can shoot you my cell number if you want to chat. Also, I will definitely be at the UT/SC game so feel free to stumble by for cocktails and beers. I'll also have a 40 or 50inch screen at the tailgate for the ND/USC game that night. UT doesn't announce their game times until a week or so before, but the ND/USC game is at 7:30. If there's overlap, I'll be sitting under by canopy watching the Irish with a couple guys traveling over from ATL with me.

I've always liked Tennessee. No idea why. Would love to go to a Tennessee vs ND game in Rocky Top

I went to the one in 2004 (I think that's the right year). It was a good time and a good win. There was even a little scuffle when our boys ran out of the tunnel and tried to run down the field to pray and got in the way of the power T.

My experiences with UT fans, while never on campus, has always been that is one fan base that REALLY hates ND... For those who have been,... Is it at all awkward, dangerous un enjoyable to rock ND gear to their games?

Nothing much dangerous about wearing ND gear or other team's gear to the games. I went to UT vs. UCLA and plenty of people were sitting around in UCLA gear. When it became obvious that UCLA would win, the rapport still remained very congenial between the fan bases. I have not often seen much threatening or violent between UT and other fans. I have always had a great experience, even sitting in my ND gear in a very popular bar after the Vol game last year to watch ND vs. USC.

Live right on campus. Ask away...?

Everything from campus to the Vol walk and band is extremely impressive.

Not dangerous at all every Saturday I went to UT I rocked the blue and gold at Neyland. though I will agree that most UT fans dislike ND more than any other SEC team I've met. Which is odd because most ND fans I've met like UT more than any other traditional SEC power.

Have you ever lived in Alabama? :) The hate for ND there is incredible.
