That was a question directed at the idiots that are justifying attacking (or threatening to) innocent people because of this circus put on.

No, I don't feel any compassion for some jackass that feels he needs to steal a TV, or bash a guys head in, because of "oppression"

I understand. But don't forget a 16 year old that was killed.

This isn't a pissing contest. I was just stating that the crap I'm reading is ignorant.

As anyone cheering as if they won something is an idiot.

Am I glad GZ was found innocent in a court of law?? Yes.

Am I happy TM died? Hell no. It's terrible.

Fair. No pissing here.

I'm just very sad.

I think I've been fairly middle of the road here.... With that said...

The prosecution just compared Trayvon Martin to Medgar Evers.... That's just as bad if not worse than the Duke Lacrosse comparison from yesterday... Wow

And the defense just giggled through their press conference. Just as silly.

Actually he was not. No one is ever found "innocent" in American criminal courts. He was found not guilty, meaning the charges could not be proven beyond a reasonable doubt. Perhaps a small, yet important distinction.

If he had a hunting knife in his belt he could have killed him just as easily.

I know, let's just outlaw all weapons and no one will ever get hurt!!!1!!

Get real.

I'm real, Sadly, I know things won't change until we have a few huge tragedies like we haven't seen or imagined yet. They get bigger and deadlier all the time. Eventually things will change, but Americans don't do anything the easy way.

There is nothing wrong with hunting rifles. Nobody needs a hand gun or an assault rifle IMHO and I respect your right to your opinion.

That wasn't the prosecution. It was the Martin family attorney. But agree that the comparisson was silly.

There are hundred of cases of young teenagers being killed every year. It is very sad. The fact that this case got so much press was totally race related. I don't really feel one way or another about the verdict but the jury sided with Zimmerman.

I find it disgusting that they have "press conferences"...

It's as if their coming off the field and giving post game. Not the time to take parting shots

Ah, thank you...

I do agree with Geraldo Rivera for the most part... The prosecution felt pressure, real or imagined... Have at it..., that lead them to go for a higher charge than they could have possibly have made stick and that's where we are now....

Good thing you weren't around during the revolution, or we'd still be part of the British Empire.

That's just your opinion, and you're welcome to it everybody has one. I went out for drinks last night to our local Tilted Kilt with 2 of my close friends Mike and Yusef who happen to be black. They both have the same opinion as I do, which is that the media, Al, and Jesse made this about race when they thought GZ was white. They both also said they wouldn't be wandering around the area at night in the rain. Mike happens to be the Assistant Principal at Seminole High School in Sanford (pretty rough school) in the immediate area of where this all went down. My point is this wasn't about race, it was made to be about race.

Actually there's all kinds of data that shows that racial bias is common in terms of conviction rates and sentencing for African Americans.

That's why it was dead from the start. It should've never gone this far...but the media and politicians(our POTUS included) forced it.

And Juan Williams makes a great point...GZ AND TM profiles each other. GZ thought TM was one of the criminals robbing his neighborhood, and TM thought GZ was another "crazy *** cracker"

Do a bigger % of blacks not commit crimes?

And it more to do with single parent families and poverty, than race

That is your opinion. Guns save lives also but you probably don't hear that much on the news. Gun deaths also include self defense and police shootings. No one should be able to tell anyone what kind of gun they can own.

Muskets are not handguns

Muskets were the most advanced weapons of their day. The same weapons that the authorities had. I do not believe everyone should have a fully automatic M-16 but acting like handguns are instruments of death that need to be outlawed is ridiculous as they are the perfect self defense weapon.

Dumb study is dumb. If the abstract is at all accurate, that study deals only with correlation.

All you can do is correlation while correcting for particular factors. See all the other studies. They say the same thing. I just used the google machine to do a quick search.
