It was ACamp1900 but when I had a system red light on me EA and Micro had trouble carrying over the gamer tag... now it's some random stuff they just gave me...

I think offense definitely has the advantage, but I don't think defense is broken as some people have claimed. I've been watching nykia31's (Pretty informative guy imo, and he's an ND fan) videos on Youtube, and a lot of his subscriber games he's played in so far have been low scoring. I think part of it is just adjusting to the new engine and feeling it out. Fixing the option, and adding in a lot of new option attacks does make it tougher to play defense though.

I will echo that '14 is a bigger step up than '13 was. I like the engine, haven't had get suction blocked yet, and no morphing that I've seen with the players. Some have said it's the best NCAA on the current console, we just had to wait several years. Ultimate Team could be a nice addition (I haven't played around with it aside from opening the starter pack). Fixing the option and adding better blocking has been a nice addition after a Spread overload the last few years with a majority of college football teams. I've liked the Recruiting changes, and the Coaching Skills is a nice addition imo for those of us that like to work our way up. Finally, I think the little touches with the new stadium/game intros and halftime makes it feel like you're watching a real game. There have been a few minor bugs, like the stadium sounds cutting all audio for a second before they play, but I imagine they'll get a patch to us for this. I haven't found anything discouraging or game breaking yet.

I don't think the defesne is broken either, and I have seen those claims...

BUT, there is a HUGE advantage to the offense on both sides (meaning if you are the offense or the cpu) and it's much larger than year's past... I can't play (yet) Heisman on both sides... I do Heisman on offense and ALL American on defense...

I played Temple and michigan last night... Temple was a 58-10 blowout... but trying to play Michigan three times in a row each game was 30 somthing to 30 something at halftime each time... no one would punt... so i kept restarting the game looking for more realism.

that's not fun to me...

BUT, I have little doubt I just need to adjust to the new engine and get rid of old habits that now don't work as well. My problem is I hope sliders work, because if they don't and I learn how to play defense against top teams... every game will be a blowout...

As far as ultimate team goes, I think I'm goin to pass... I don't think they added ANY classic ND players aside from Tim Brown,... I saw they hinted at Theisman but I have yet to see anyone confirm him... honestly, no Rocket, Watters, Densen, Bus... then I'm just not interested.

Whats really new about the recruiting? And I definitely like working my way up so the coaching skills sound interesting. If the game wasn't 60 bucks I'd buy it no problem but I am a bit hesitant and will probably wait for it to be a little cheaper

Recruiting is completely different in both presentation and engine...

I have a feeling they're in there. Can't say on Autry, but Rocket and Bus have to be in there I would bet. I've got a couple Irish guys already and I didn't expect to see either of them. To give an example...in my starter pack I picked up Trevor Laws at DT and Ryan Grant at RB They're starter players, so they've got stats in the 60s, but all the starting cards have players listed like that including guys like Teddy Ginn, which I also got.

I also had to laugh... the reason you pick your team prior to is that EA claimed they'd hook you up with some of your teams players...

so i open my first pack... first player Dirty Sanchez... then about one out of every three players was a Trojan... then the last two cards are Landi and Grant... I had to smh at that one.

Shoot, I think I must have got Landri too then, not Laws. I figured it was all random on who you got in those starter packs. Maybe whoever your favorite team is listed as gets you a couple players from that team?

Probably just go with all american, 5 minute qtrs, 0 speed difference, fast playing style.

Currently using PastaPadre on 360. Seems pretty accurate (at least for ND).

Anyway, they didn't upgrade the AI on this thing. Four games into the season Atkinson has 4 100+ yard KO returns and Tommy has about 450 yards a game through the air... on Heisman. Tommy. Tuitt had 8 sacks in the Michigan game. 8! There was a huge AI change from '12 to '13, I was hoping for something a little bit different this year. Seriously, just make something like All-Madden mode... and maybe nerf ND a bit. I think I'm going to move the speed slider to 100 in the meantime.

Recruiting is easier if anything. Less players are interested in the beginning and they finally seem to have fixed the ATH bug, but it's so easy to get top players interested. All they've really changed is that it takes less time since you don't have to call. Just go all out for the best players, easy mode. Maybe I should save judgment until my first season's over, or once I'm not playing as ND.

- Zero penalties in 4 games, same as every year.
- Ultimate team is just silly and a way to make people buy extra nonsense.
- Still have the corner/safety "eye in the back of their head" problem.
- I can't find a fade play to save my life and height still doesn't seem to matter.
- Run plays are unstoppable if you run them correctly, though it's much harder to break away.
- No new plays except a few extra read option plays, and most are not on ND's play list
- Game runs much faster, but has frozen 2 times in 4 dynasty games.

Edit: Hail Marys are still bugged.

My initial reaction is pretty "meh"... 3/5.

SLIDERS SLIDERS SLIDERS!!!

The game never works well with standard difficulty ratings. Get on OS and find some decent sliders and the game transforms into something very much more playable. Its been this way for about a decade, same for all EA games

I'm currently using the sliders I used in '13 from OS. I will definitely be upping penalties and CPU accuracy, etc. tonight.

I am going to take down all offensive sliders on both sides... take UP all pentalies (though I tried this last night, the code just sin't right for some... like when the QB just throws the ball away in the tackle box, that never gets called no matter what, and the cpu does that a lot)... and but most defensive sliders up...

see what happens... I must say though... I'm getting the hang of defense already...

OU- 22 points (including a TD converted after a fumble recovery on my own ten yard line)

those were my last three games... all on All American defesne and all on eight minute Q's... all wins... I don't think there is anything remotely unrealistic about any of that... the points I dropped on THEM, and Rees' numbers??? another story.

I spent most of last night uploading ND, Michigan, Michigan St, USC, Purdue, Penn St, Bama, Florida, LSU, Georgia, Navy, Tennessee, South Florida, FSU, and BC stadium sounds.

All that and there's still a few open slots. 200 is so much better than the original 50!

This is how I feel about the option, especially the read option. I just played against South Carolina (Clowney & Co.) and ran all over them with Zaire and Bryant. If had used Golson and GA3/Carlisle it might not have even been fun. I haven't adjusted sliders yet, because I need a new hard drive and I don't feel like doing all that work each time I play. Hopefully it will be better once I do that.

I imagine that the NCAA didn't like that. It diminishes their brand in a sense.

I'm planning on starting another PS3 dynasty soon. Was giving everyone (myself very much included) to get used to the this year's game and get their custom playbooks in order (mine are shaping up nicely).
