WARNING: Childish Gambino's lyrics are highly explicit (but good) and the videos can be explicit as well.

<iframe src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/qL1B_r9nC9k" allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="315" width="560"></iframe>

<iframe src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/dFVxGRekRSg" allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="315" width="560"></iframe>

<iframe src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/pHHWPTs1zxg" allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="315" width="560"></iframe>

If you don't recognize him, Childish Gambino's real name is Donald Glover. He started in comedic acting with the group Derrick Comedy (funny stuff), he then wrote for the show 30 Rock, starred in the show Community, and did his own comedy shows. He has made his own movie, The Mystery Team, but has since been a successful rap artist. Here is a short interview with him:

One of the best covers of a Doors song I've ever heard:

I'll have to give the whole thing a download. Right now my Album of The Year goes to The National hands down.

But there is a lot of great music coming out this summer/fall. To say I'm looking forward to Arcade Fire is an understatement.

Yup, Its completely different than any other rap music. It's just amazing, cannot stop listening to it since it leaked Friday. Check it out on Spotify, and you'll thank me later. It's really different so give it multiple chances before it sinks in at just how good it is. Kanye is 6/6 in solo albums and has the greatest discography of all-time in Hip-Hop while being top 3 in popularity since he debuted in 2004. The best commercial artist of the 2000's and its not even close IMO.

The lyrics on Yeezus are retarded and he comes of as a whiny millionaire rapping along to Skinny Puppy. I can think of a dozen hip hop artists with catalogs that blow Kanye out of the water. Plus he's "keeping up with the Kardashians".

Well the lyrics aren't as good as his other stuff, but the production is amazing. And go ahead let me see who has a better catalog than Kanye. With 4 albums considered classic, Yeezus which has a 87 on Metacritic, and Graduation which had a 79 on metacritic and won a bunch of grammies. Go ahead.

Tupac, Biggie, Eric B and Rakim, Dre, Geto Boys, Naz, Beastie Boys, Busta Rhymes. He's a good producer but he's an average rapper and his lyrics are pretty bad/stupid. For the record I think Macklemore is horrible too. Haha.

No, has 2 classic albums, has 2 albums, no, has 2 classic albums, 3 classic albums, definitively no. None of them have 6 universally acclaimed albums, grammies, and the sales that Kanye does.

What is your definition of a "classic" album? Because I highly doubt any of Kanye's albums are considered "classic"-- at least not nearly on the level of Tupac or Biggie. Plus they both have way more album sales than Kanye.

The best commercial artist of the 2000's and its not even close IMO.
Eminem is the most commercially successful artist of the 2000's and its not even close. Kanye isn't even top 20.

Also earning a 79 on metacritic isn't worth bragging about or even mentioning.

btw I'm not a rap fan at all, just thought I'd point out these facts.

Tame Impala put on one hell of a concert this weekend. It was one of my favorites of the week. It was trippy as hell. Paul McCartney was amazing. Nas and Wu-Tang both were fantastic. A$AP Rocky was too wild. Grizzly Bear was better than expected. Father John Misty has wonderful stage presence. Tom Petty was a nice closer for the weekend. Fun stuff.

Right now I am listening to Can.

I have been stuck on these guys for a while. Very diverse music. Lyrics pretty intense and surreal. Political and pissed off.

I saw Tame Impala this spring and they were incredible. They're the closest hing to early Pink Floyd since...early Pink Floyd.

When it first came out I didn't dig the new Sigur Ros album too much. It was too aggressive for the Sigur Ros I had known and I thought the change in style was a bit too much for me. I've listened to it a couple of times this weekend, and I have completely changed my stance. I guess I wasn't in the right state of mind because, while it's aggressive, there is still the Sigur Ros beauty buried beneath it. Really good album, one of my favorites of this year. I think this has been a slumping year for rock, but albums like this, The National's new album, the return of Flaming Lips, and Vampire Weekend have all been very solid. MBV was fantastic as well.

I need a musical connoisseur to classify this (post-metal, dub, house....). Good luck. Multiple opinions are welcome. Requirements include listening to the entire 3:52.
