NFL draft: Biggest first-round busts
You'd think a first-round draft pick would guarantee you a good chance of landing a successful player. Not so. Picks at every single position in the first round have failed to pan out, whether from lack of talent, injuries, front-office follies or bad attitudes. Here are the worst picks at every draft position of the first round. – Jay Busbee

What a ridiculous list. If Bo is #1, what about John Elway? And you're going to leave out Tim Couch? How about Tony Mandarich? And if Cade McNown is there, what about Akili Smith?

Just a lot of odd choices.

The list has got some weird selections....Sebas Janikowski is by no way a bust (although he did point out that Brady was still available in the draft) but janikowski has been one of the very few things in the Raider organization that has been consistant and performed at a high level over the last 12-14 years; the other being Shane Lechler (punter). thats how bad the Raiders have been over that decade, the most consistant positions on the team have been the kicker and punter.

Bo Jackson leaving the Bucs with nothing, doesnt compare to the $10million that Ryan Leaf cost the Chargers, and simply pales in comparison to JaMarcus Russell's $39million that he cost the Raiders. Last I checked, paying nothing to get nothing, is ALOT better than losing 10 or 39 million dollars and have your organization be set back a number of years in the process.

Tony Mandarich ended up being a pretty decent player in the pros, especially after he moved to guard. Worthy of the hype and slot he was drafted? No. But any player that starts for multiple years in the NFL...and does a pretty good job, isn't really a "bust" in the minds of scouts, GM's, and personnel guys.

Smith, Couch and Russell have to be on the list... I'd thorw William Green on there too... really it's a pretty bad list... good for memory lane though.

No Troy Williamson? I laughed for days when he was drafted. Guy was just honestly freaking awful. Than the Raiders drafting a kicker in the first round? I don't care if you can kick it a 100 yards, never go kicker in the first round.
