Lunardi currently has us as a 6 seed playing St.Marys. That would be an amazing match-up for us. Also, has the three seed as MSU, that part is unfortunate. Have to wait and see but a 6 seed seems most likely.

I think if MSU wins the big ten tourney they would be at least a 2 seed.

Ya probably so basically we could still get Wisconsin or K ST if they win tonight. Those are the 2 that are 4 seeds and still playing and the 3s are cuse, New Mexico and Florida so still a lot of movement possible

Why the whining about officials? Last night was refereed like all the games all year. The referees have let them bang inside the paint all year. We needed to bang back, but we didn't. They played tougher than we did.

Cooley looks like he's burnt out. That's what happens when you play too many minutes. There's no reason why Sherman and Knight didn't get a lot more playing time earlier in the year.

If Sherman can get tougher-and as Kelly would say "up his work volume"- Sherman could be a very good player. Of course all bets are off if Brey plays him every minute of every game next year. He'll be burnt out by the end of the year just as Cooley is now at tournament time.

Both Grant and Atkins are burnt out as well. You cannot play every minute of every game all year long and not be. Not having another guard to rotate is one of the key weaknesses of this team.

We're a regular season focused team while all the elite teams are tournament focused. It's who we are. We're not going to go far into the tournament.

Can't rly argue with that. That's why I'm trying not to get my hopes up

Both of them are mediocre at best right now.

If Sherman can get tougher-and as Kelly would say "up his work volume"- Sherman could be a very good player. Of course all bets are off if Brey plays him every minute of every game next year. He'll be burnt out by the end of the year just as Cooley is now at tournament time.

Or, Cooley was wiped out by the virus from two weeks ago. That's pretty common in the medical world. He has nearly a week to rest, he'll be fine. It also doesn't help that teams know that they can double him and let Knight be Knight.

Both Grant and Atkins are burnt out as well. You cannot play every minute of every game all year long and not be. Not having another guard to rotate is one of the key weaknesses of this team.

I disagree again.

No, the elite teams are just better. It's really silly to say they are "regular season focused" when they've made it to four straight Big East semifinals. The NCAA is a totally different animal and it makes as much sense to judge a season on it as it does to judge a football season on a bowl game. It's nonsensical because it's just a damn coin flip when every team is going 100% and basketball is so fickle.

Do you guys not understand that they played just about even with arguably the best team in the country for 85% of last nights game? Did I watch something else last night??

They're going to be a #6 seed and have a fine shot at advancing if they can stop another team from being hot. The other team probably just won their conference tournament and is playing well. You don't come in at a #11 unless you're playing to the best of your ability as a mid-major.

There is no getting burnt out in a 30 game schedule. Most good high school teams play more games and the players don't come out. That's not the reason y they r weak in the tourney.

That's what I was trying to say before in a couple comments before is that we played the best team in the country for most of the game and we played well and were not a mediocre team

I find it shocking to see all the fire Brey comments. Sub-par facilities for a major program, has a major basketball power in state, a school that is always football first, and tough academics and Brey fields quality winning teams year in and year out. Firing Brey would be ridiculous.

I may be wrong, but I think Clash was joking

yes, I was joking. Brey has done an incredible job getting his teams to compete in the Big East. Everyone would love more success in the NCAA tourney, but to say that Brey isn't pretty much the perfect coach for what ND needs is kind of silly.

I'll guarantee they are a 1 seed. If they beat Syracuse tomorrow and Indiana doesn't win the B1G tourney, they have a very good shot at the overall #1 seed.

Not to toot my own horn, but Lunardi now projects Louisville as the overall #1.

I would be a little scared of Ole Miss because of Henderson but then I'd love to beat the crap out of him and Ole Miss

This team really confuses me, at times they seem like they can play with any team in the country. Then turn around and look like they don't even deserve an NIT berth.

I do not know what attributes to that but I believe if they get hot they can make a good push through the tourney. Partly because I think this year the pool is pretty even, no team really "pops" as that dominate team like in years past.

We shall see how things work next week, though.
