Marquette is killing us. They are on fire from outside and ND is anemic offensively. None of the big guys are looking very good for us so far.

Just some horrible turnovers trying to force the ball inside, that last one by Atkins was a killer. Had a chance to go in to half down 9 or 10 and it turns into an uncontested lay up for Marquette. Another case of a team just being too athletic.

Needed to not give up that rebound and 1 after a good defensive possession. They've been so close to getting it down to where Marquette would feel some real pressure but can't get over the hump.

The positive of this game is that Auguste ended up having a really nice game and is really improving. However, Sherman was awful, we committed too many turnovers, and still miss too many free throws. Made a couple nice runs to keep it close but just didn't have enough. With Cooley at full strength things might have been different, but Marquette is a tough team. An upset at Louisville would be really nice, but as long as we beat St. John's at home and win a game in the BE tourney we should still be around a 6 seed.

I have friends texting me, flipping out. This game was going to be a major battle seeing as Marquette can't lose at home.

Having Jack too sick to contribute, and still only losing by eight points to a team that shot out of their butts? That isn't too bad of a loss at all. Obviously, this would have been a huge win.

But I'd rather beat them on a neutral court in the tourney when it actually matters!

Shermon didn't have his hook on tonight. At the end Marquette made sure they wouldn't let Grant do what he did against Lousiville. I thought Atkins played decent.
