Anything less than <4.55 would be really good for him IMO. His shiftiness and moves show up all over his tape, but his straight line speed is tough to gauge. In two years, I have seen him be caught from behind by both a Navy Midshipman and a BYU Cougar. No bueno.

I don't expect him to have a good time, but perhaps 40 yards is short enough to not really hurt him. He does have great burst, so I expect his early splits to be great, and then to plunge towards the end of the trek.

i can remember it like yesterday...i was screaming go theo go down the sideline thinking no one was going to catch him....and then

I think Cierre will really help his draft stock here. Kid's always been a specimen, just hasn't been able to put it all together

From a Bears beat writer:

Former ND RB Cierre Wood still ticked by his lack of touches in the national title game.Tells me it only motivates him going into the draft.

just remember that BK isn't going to trash him or say possibly why he didn't...so we are getting 1 side...well hopefully he does well for him and his family...but there has always been something about him that has rubbed me the wrong way...i think he thinks he is better than what he is type attitude...

I don't blame him. I don't know what he did to get in Kelly's dog house but It never seemed like he got a fair shake. I am certain there are two sides to the story though...

Theo plays much, much harder than Mando did. Runs with an attitude.

Mando was so-so for me. As was Darius Walker.

Theo and Mando make for a really interesting comparison.

Allen gave his all for the Irish and wore his heart on his sleeve much like Riddick. Allen is not as shifty or strong as Theo, but had better speed and pass pro.

Theo is crazy quick though from a lateral movement perspective and so versatile. I'm very interested in seeing his measurables.

I loved both those guys because they both worked their tails off, improved ever year (especially their last), and were great emotional leaders.

“@vxmcclure23: Wood on Teo girlfriend story, ``It's like me telling you, `I just bought a pet monkey.' You're going to be like, `So. Who cares?'”

“@vxmcclure23: ``(Teo) told us about his girlfriend, but it's not like I'm going to be, `What's her SS number, where does she live, what does her mom do?''”

“@vxmcclure23: Notre Dame's Braxston Cave said hes model his game after former Bear Olin Kreutz. Has met with and watched film with Kreutz.”

OL have completed their bench press testing. Cave is listed as
"DNP", no news if this was because of an injury or something else.

I am disappointed, I expected him to be one of the best testers of all participants in the bench press.

Anybody got any news for why he did not participate?

Haven't seen anything on Cave. I did see Khaled Holmes tore his pec during his bench today. That's not good.

Cierre Wood were listed as a 6'1 in ND and in Indy as a 5'11. Typical.

Riddick > Allen IMO. Allen was faster (specially in terms of straight line speed and top end speed) but he lacks the change of direction and the cutback ability that Riddick Has. Also i think Theo is more physical and runs with a better pad level.

To me Allen depended a lot of his blockers, Theo has the ability to break ankles and make people miss.

No way. I'd take AA over Theo every day.

Really? I'd be interested to know why.

They did have pretty similar careers and stats in college. Allen was a good kick returner his first two years, and then didn't have that responsibility as an upperclassman. Riddick broke the school record for return yardage as a freshman and then only took 10 kickoffs over his sophomore and junior seasons.

As pass catchers they are pretty even, but Riddick has to get an edge for playing receiver and having more versatility. Riddick had one more career catch but 430 more yards and 5 more touchdowns. Even when limited to a pass catcher out of the backfield Riddick was more of a down field threat while Allen was largely making a living off screen passes and dump offs. Some of that has to do with system, but when I think of some tough catches out of the backfield, Riddick has a lot more.

As a runner, I thought Allen was thoroughly mediocre his first 3 years, only improving stats as the offense became more efficient under Clausen. At the same time, it's tough to make a comparison with Riddick because he barely played as a freshman and then spent two years at receiver.

As seniors, there are a lot of similarities. Both ran with a new-found sense of strength and their production was pretty even. Of course Allen had his senior year cut short, but to me that points out why a lot of his career was one that never broke through.

Riddick in contrast, really broke through as a senior. I wouldn't say he was great per se, but he was a rock and I didn't see Allen playing like that even if he had stayed healthy in 2010. Just going off big career moments Riddick has several classics and Allen not so much. Again, some of that has to do with a better team and a brighter spotlight for Riddick but he still made those plays.

Riddick was more explosive, tougher, more touchdowns, bigger moments, and more versatile.
