Anyone Watching "Walking Dead" on AMC?

The premise sets up several types of post-apocalyptic tension: (1) tribe v. world/ zombies; (2) intra-tribe conflicts; and (3) inter-tribe conflicts.

Each season has moved onto the next type of conflict. My wife, for instance, liked season 2 the best because of the love triangle between Rick, Shane and Lori. Those sorts of intra-tribal politics were hugely significant in primitive human societies, and they remain compelling due to evolutionary psychology.

In other words, I don't think the producers are stretching to broaden the appeal. The strength of the show's premise is that it can convincingly create tension in a lot of different ways.

Yeah, they better get to moving the action forward again. I don't need a zombie-themed soap opera. If I wanted crap like that I'd watch True Blood. I need excitement and action like the show was founded on. Are they just going to let zombies continue to walk around the yard? They are well aware that there is a back way into the prison, yet they are doing nothing to try to close that up?

This whole thing has just gotten so fantastical that I am losing interest. They have jumped successfully from the micro to the macro view, but risk losing so much in character develpoment, that sudden plot changes and twists may not be enough.

But they need to spend 3 episodes to decide what to do..

I'm with you guys. This is what happens to good shows when they try and get too cute. Just stick to the bones and let it play out.

I just don't get the walkers in the yard. Bring them to the fence and off them one at a time, or 10 at a time with knifes through the fence holes. Hell Michonne could probably take them all out herself.

Last night's episode was pretty bad. Andrea is an awful character. There can be good characters who are irritating and easy to hate (Skylar White), but Andrea applies no logic to any situation and is completely worthless. The previews for next week looked good but I won't hold my breath.
