Not sure about the legality or logistics of it. I'm sure the image is property of ND, so we couldn't make a profit. If my wife is willing to do it, it would probably be a situation where the buyer only pays for the materials and shipping.

Anyone here, especially admin or ownership, know whether or I could sell these as long as we do not profit from the sale? We really just do not want to get ourselves in trouble. We dont have a business and my wife just does this for fun.

Hopefully I have enough info to make a decision tomorrow and let you 3 who have asked know if we can do it.

Thanks for the kind words. I have shared them with my wife!

It's not just whether you make a profit. Trademark/copyright holders are required to protect their work so it doesn't go public domain. If you made some for your personal use you're not an issue. Make a 100 or so and they're not gonna be happy with you even if you give them away.

We had a discussion on here a year or so ago about tee shirts and "images" and such. dre1919 has a clothing line and pointed out the even the outline of the Dome and the Basilica are protected by ND. In the absence of one of the on board lawyers shedding some wisdom I'd suggest you PM dre1919 for his first hand experience.

Here's a link a dre post in that IE thread which is germanine:

The bad news... I don't think I want to test the waters with any sort of copyright infringement, so we're not going to make these. I really apologize and my wife really thanks all of you for the nice words. It was never my intention to start selling these, I was just really proud of her work.

The good news... you can do this yourself. It's just a simple bleaching process. Here is a simple explanation and where my wife got the idea:

Book Nerd | Dreamy Colours

You can use just about anything to block a portion of the shirt (tape, vinyl, plastic cut outs). My wife used a machine called a silhouette and there is also another machine called a cricut that can be used to cut out shapes. Then spray bleach on it and let it dry. My wife used straight bleach, but you can use a diluted version as well for a different look.

You could try and get a license from them to use their logo.

Maybe if they pre-approve your use and are willing to take just a cut of the proceeds they'd be ok with the venture.
