I guess I don't understand the desire by some to be a MOD? I like McDonald's fries, but I don't want to make them.

Yeah, I don't really get why anyone "aspires" to be a mod. I am a mod on some lacrosse forums and find it quite annoying (those people are worse though because you have a bunch of teenage lax bros populating the site). On the lacrosse forums, it even got to the point where we (the mods) started a rotation of who was on cleanup duty for a given week because we were all getting sick of it. To me, it's akin to being an e-janitor without even getting minimum wage.

So I always truly appreciated mods for keeping the site running smoothly, dealing with trolls, dealing with porn pics, etc. And I also never once expressed interest in being a mod to anyone... because while I "enjoy the french fries," why would you want to make them when you can get them for free? But I'm on this site so much (see: outrageous post count) that with NDinLA leaving I figured I might as well step up to the plate and help out as needed. It's the least I can do for a place that helps me pass the boredom day-in and day-out so effectively.

Plus you get a bigger inbox. And my inbox is always full. And that sh*t gets really annoying soooooo... #perks

Congrats to both new mods. According to WikiLeaks:

-JPham wanted 'the dog', but Mike chewed the damn message when he was bringing the mail

-In order for LAX to get his '0-0' status, he needed two bans so he turfed AllGator twice

-IrishPat WAS modded, but then happened on a game-day thread and immediately banned himself
