So not only do they circumvent the rules in recruiting, use devious roster management techniques, push no academic standards, and subscribe to a football culture long associated with 'paying for play' but they also use banned substances for on the field performance. No wonder we got killed.

When I first heard about this, I thought it was pretty shady. Especially given that if this happened at ND it would be on every news outlet all day and their tickers.

However, if you know anything about IGF-1 or any of it's analogues you would know that they really don't provide any shocking performance edge. I would even go as far as saying that the best edge this would give is very mild recovery and placebo effect in the gym. I've personally used IGF-1 LR3 (a very potent version of this peptide) and I didn't notice anything.

Is it ****** knowing this after taking an assbeating? Sure, but the NCAA testing policy is so lax regarding PEDs that something like this should be at the very bottom of the list of concerns.

Just my coupla pennies

If these players are not gaining any advantage, then why are they taking it? Because they ARE gaining an advantage, that is the only reason a football player would use this, I can't remember the last time i heard one of my family members or friends saying to me "hey, can you hand me my antler spray that's sitting on the counter".

It won't shock me when 5 years from now Alabama is going through their Lance Armstrong moment. They have lax (see: nonexistent) academic standards, "creative" recruiting strategies, and I would bet on PED use going on there in Tuscaloosa. Shoot it wouldn't surprise me if PED use is rampant throughout the SEC and most of "big time" CFB.

Ray Lewis is also linked to murder so I'm not shocked by anything shady he might've been involved in.
One of the main reasons I'm cheering for San Fran is because of Ray Lewis. He may be my least favorite athlete ever. From his shady connection to murder, his subsequent persecution complex every time it's brought up, his stupid STUPID pregame dance, his phoney baloney religious act, etc. words just cannot express how much I disdain him as a person and as a player. Oh and throw in the fact he's been overrated and living off of reputation for a good half decade and he's just about everything I cannot stand in life.

Because peptides are in the gray area regarding banned substances in the NCAA and they are difficult to test for. Peptides like this have exploded in the last 5-7 years because of their price (compared with real HGH) and the marketing behind them. You'll quickly notice that most of the hype about these products comes from the people advertising them. If you look at actual users reviews you'll notice that they aren't very effective at all.

I can post a lot of data on the products but I don't think that would change anything in this discussion. It's weak, it's unstable, and its one of many products that gets destroyed by the first pass of the liver before it can even be utilized. On top of that, "deer antler spray" is just another product isn't evaluated by the FDA so it could have just about anything in it. I would be more concerned about a product like that having a new prohormone analogue in it than some peptide but whatever, it doesn't matter now.

Would I want him on my team? Yes
Would I want to have a beer with him? No
Would I let him anywhere near one of my family members? No
Do I believe he has deep faith? When it's convenient...but that's the big guys call.
Did he know he cheating with Buck Spray....Certainly.
Would I want him mad at me? No...Is it possible to post anonymously?

Ray Lewis addresses the families of two slain men from Atlanta stabbings during pregame show | Shutdown Corner - Yahoo! Sports

Figured this would be the best place for this

"It’s simple," Lewis said when Sharpe asked him what he would say to the families.
"God has never made a mistake.
That’s just who He is, you see. And if our system – it’s the sad thing about our system – if our system took the time to really investigate what happened 13 years ago, maybe they would have got to the bottom line truth. But the saddest thing ever was that a man looked me in my face and told me, ‘We know you didn’t do this, but you’re going down for it anyway.’ To the family, if you knew, if you really knew the way God works, he don’t use people who commits anything like that for His glory. No way. It’s the total opposite."

The bolded statement disgusts me. Like they deserved it.

The whole glamification (is that a word?) of Ray Lewis during the playoffs disgusts me. I love watching him whiff on wide open tackles up the middle and getting beaten on crossing routes. He's way past his prime, yet when he's getting beat play after play the announcers aren't even mentioning it.

The way I see it, Lewis has been more of an inspirational thing for Baltimore this season similar to the way the Bus was in 2005. The Steelers missed winning it all and had some close calls in a number of playoffs with Cowher, but it wasn't until that 2005 season when it looked like the Bus was heading out that they finally won it. In that 2005 season the Bus wasn't even the leading back after injuries if I recall. He also had a key fumble against Indianapolis in a playoff that nearly sealed the Steelers fate. I'm not really a Ray Lewis fan, but I think he provided a big rallying point for his team this year.
