Solid?

This is true for every school in the country not named BYU.

Lol I was thinking the same thing. I think every state has a school that gets branded "the STD school," usually unfairly. Sounds like this is South Texas's.

Whoops, it's Devin Fuller.

Sinbad is Devin Fuller's uncle.

For realz

Dudes...don't hate on Sinbad...may not be a great actor (but good enough in Necessary Roughness)...but the guy has been on the stand up circuit for eons and is a fun act to watch

I'm not kidding when I say that I did not realize that there was a Texas State. I'm not shocked to learn that there is a Texas State, but I am a bit taken aback by the revelation that they have a FBS football program, which would be like learning there is a state in the union with which you had not previously been familiar.

They, and UTSA, started this season.

Really? Their football program is the subject of a famous documentary called "Necessary Roughness."

Yeah, I've heard of Necessary Roughness, but if I have ever seen any part of it I'm sure I just assumed that it wasn't a documentary and the school in the film was fictional.

Texas State is actually south of Austin like 30 mins in San Marcos. Huge party school with a solid new DI program. The TX tech of south tx..lucky to make it 4 yrs without an STD. Not the armadillos but rather the bobcats. Heard sam Houston state offered late and was going to go there but had a high school teammate going to tx state so chose them

Hey my sister went to Texas State

Damn it, you two. The Necessary Reference link is just a couple posts above both of yours.

Going to Louisville as preferred walk on.
Former Arkansas, Notre Dame RB commit headed to Louisville

Jamel James, a former Arkansas and Notre Dame running back commit from Katy (TX) Cinco Ranch, will play for Louisville next season, joining the program this summer as a preferred walk-on.

James, 6-0, 240, is a former member of the Top247. After de-committing from the Razorbacks and Irish, James signed with Texas State and spent his freshman season there before attending Navarro (TX) College this year.

James told InsideTheVille he will report to Louisville in June. James will visit Louisville this weekend and attend Friday’s spring game.

“I will be reporting to campus on June 1 or if I get more information about move in dates over this weekend it may change,” James said.
