If Mike Farrell says UCLA, I feel even better about NDs chances.

all this talk about the cold. If he can't handle the cold then maybe he isn't tough enough to play for the Irish. I know he hasn't mentioned the cold but just people around here. That is my opinion.

That just grinds my nerves. If EV and his family can't see the true nature of this offer, then I'm afraid we're fighting a larger uphill battle than we initially thought. Granted, I could be WAY off and his sister could be the greatest freshman basketball player in the country, but something tells me that's not the case...

If she's only an 8th grader I don't really see this having any effect. By the time she's ready for college EV will be gone. Besides if she's that good she'll get other offers so the parents will know if it's a ploy or not.

Haden is a shmuck!

What kind of an AD gets involved with recruiting?

Desperation.

The same kind of smuck that would allow a football scholly to be tied to a 9th grade girls basketball scholly. Spot on with the desperation call.

And I can't discount what that means talent-wise for USC.

Bigelow and Vanderdoes would be as ridiculous as imagining him with Nix, and Tuitt..,

Wow

I guess the keying of his car really made him realize that he needs to start recruiting on his own

Seriously what's with all the weather talk? I grew up in So. Cal and spent a couple months working in sub zero temps in Alaska. It was kind of sucky but I was doing stuff like chipping ice with a metal breaker bar. If all I had to do was walk around drinking coffee no problemo. I used to go surfing in freezing temps all the time too. Anyhow....such things build character! Right? Doubt weather plays that big of a role with this one.

i highly doubt EV will sign to SC just because his sister got a scholarship already. If anything, it's showing us that Kiffin's getting desperate. EV is smart enough to know that at ND he'll have the best combination of academics and athletics and will be able to be successful in life regardless of how football plays out. At the same time, all we can do is hope and wait as he visits this weekend. Jaylon said at the Army All-American game that he would try to come down to ND this week with Vanderdoes so we'll see if that happens as well.

regardless, we REALLY need the guy. He's incredibly athletic and strong (benching 405), and he owned at the Army game. He's the replacement for Kap LM that ND needs. Let's hope that the story of this second 5 star USC decommit ends exactly like the first (Redfield).

I am the one that posted the weather report. I did it without making any notion if it was good or bad. I didn't mean to cause a firestorm although I should have known better this IE.

Yes, and as it was mentioned before.

If you shy away from playing in cold weather, then you can forget about playing in the NFL

People get softer as they get older. When I was 18, I would didn't value my comfort as highly as I do now.

This is 100% true. When I was 18 I could bear anything--brutal hangovers and lake effect snowstorms alike. Now I chill with the tequila shots and stay in and eat soup when it snows. Lol

Hey guys. I was at the Pitt game, November 3rd. It was comfortable. The only game in the stadium played after that was WF. It was beautiful that day by contrast. You all talk bad weather. The only bad weather game I remember in that stadium (in the last three or four years), was the spring game two years ago was South Fla, and that wasn't cold that was the problem.

Yes it gets cold in December and stays cold through the middle of March. But most of the work required in those months is indoor! End of March through spring game is manageable! Summer is better than the south. So, can we drop the meteorological inferiority complex?

I don't understand all the weather talk when EV is on record saying that it wouldn't be a factor for him. Are we really such gluttons for punishment that we need to create even more controversy than there already is? Folks, let's take a collective pill and try to remember that, while EV would be a MAJOR recruiting pull, he wasn't even an afterthought several weeks ago. The fact that we're even in this with him right now shows the direction this program is headed. We're getting this kid on campus WITH HIS MOM. We're in good shape- rain, snow, sleet, or hail.

Haden can do what he wants, but you'd think the AD of a large university would have better things to do than attend a high school girls basketball game.
