USC OL's Dad Claims Manti Knew

So, my buddy (USC grad) lets me check in on his Rival's paysite from time to time, and holy crap, THEIR ENTIRE BOARD IS DEDICATED TO MANTI TE'O. Seriously, on Friday there were at least 30 threads on Manti. And the amount of misinformation (aside from just bitter, filthy hate) is staggering to say the least.

Anyway, I think the most disgusting thing I read is from current USC OL John Martinez's dad, known as PolyDad2 on their site. Normally I wouldn't start a new thread on this, and normally I wouldn't even care what a USC fan writes, but for a dad of a player to come out and talk sh!t without any facts??? Really? And since he is polynesian and he is the father of a current player, members take his word as gospel. Here's what he said:

Manti & Family are FAR from gullible. Believe me, this thing was staged.

The only question is was this for trophies, money, or lifestyle

And for some members, that was all it took LOL for them to be convinced. He followed this up with ZERO evidence. Now, maybe this is no big deal, maybe my baby girl waking me up in the middle of the night (it's 3 a.m. here) is clouding my judgment; maybe I had a bad piece of pizza and woke up with a conscience. I don't know. But to me, this is complete and utter bullsh!t. Dude should have enough common sense to know that he is different than just some random dude posting (I kno, the irony is thick with ME saying that, right wooly? lol), and that his words carry a bit more weight.

(And don't even get me started on their mod, their version of Jason Sapp, tweeting his joy in this whole saga, acting like a 12 year-old girl at a Justin Bieber concert. Nice professionalism clown.)

Mods, delete or merge, it's all good, but eff that dude and eff USC fans for believing that Manti was involved...

I really do think it will be easier for ND fans when they accept that people are going to say and think what they want. Nothing you can do about it. Eff 'em is right.

Now you guys know how Patriots fans feel. Five years later and the whole football world still calls us cheaters. Almost identical situation, in that the popular narrative immediately diverted from reality and idiots talk about it without any real understanding of the facts or any context for what little they do know.

I learned through that experience that most people, and especially people not invested, tend to be intellectually lazy. Nobody cares about what really happened, they just want something to talk about.

Destroy them. Embarrass them. This is the one time I will advocate running up the score. Grab some marshmallows and gather around as we watch Troy burn.

U mad bro?

That's how I feel towards them. They just pissed that Te'o picked ND. Also pissed SC is trending down and ND trending up. Instead of focusing on their team and getting it right, they take their anger out on other teams.

Jealousy sucks.

USC should know a little bit about cheating, winning awards then having to give them back.

I hate USC so much. They should worry more about Robert Woods' tweets and if they are involved themselves. Just seems fishy that the guy who orchestrated the whole thing has deep USC connections.

Doesn't matter. No matter how much evidence you provide for a rival fan base you get comments about "You know those people who supported JoePa? Thats you, right now."

The DMs from Ronaiah to Manti that ESPN has on their site were staged and could have come from anyone. This confession is 3rd hand and doesn't mean it happened. And there are still a lot of holes in the story.

You simply cannot fight this wave.

Just gives me another reason to hate SC more than I do already. Why would this situation be any different?

The funniest thing in all of this is the USC angle... Coincidence that all of the people involved are USC fans or the progeny of USC players? Story would've had a completely different spin if not released by Deadspin.

Did the USC dad send that post from his phone or a computer from his house that was provided by the Trojan community?

Maybe the old man should be more concerned who is leading his son into battle or who his son is battling with after games in a locker room !

I just watched a tv special about basket weaving. It really is sort of interesting and a somewhat complicated. My hat is off to all those USC and SEC football players.

It's obvious with the state of things at USC that their fans have little to be excited about. they are gobbling up the Teo thing for all it's worth and more. It's gotta be better than talking about:
1) Limited schollies
2) Lance Kiffin
3) flat footballs
4) de-commits
5) from preseason #1 to oblivion.
6) bowl games
7) you don't need this list...you already know

Father should know better!

Can you imagine what next season is going to be like?

We're going to implode this site on opening day.

It seems more likely to me that Robert Woods was "in on it" than Manti.

This. And it gets no play. All because of the slant of the first article. I mean shoot.... a couple years ago some people at Cal made up a fake girl to prank a USC guy and it worked... no one gave a crap because the guy clearly wasn't in on it.

This is what happens when you don't get out in front of a story. Manti/ND/whoever is in charge of PR royally screwed up IMO.
