I'll try to find what they said specifically but on the 247 board one of the writers for another site mind you said that Randolph could be special on the next level. Some really good things were being said by unbias writers. We tend to forget about this kid like Rochell because he's been a perfect commit this whole time. Kid fits perfectly into the 3-4 as well.

Here is the rivals article.

That's great news. Love versatility in linebackers. We know Anzalone can play OLB if we run into injury/depth issues there; nice to know that Randolph can play ILB, too. I didn't know if he had the agility for that.

No idea why Jaylon's interview came up. I know i embedded Doug's in here. Fixed now.

I committed to notre dame for the total experience. Not just coach Kelly. I hope he stays but there is way more to ND. #bleedblueandgold

perfect attitude. I think the kids that are being recruited feel this way as a whole as well.

#NDNation there is no need to worry about a decommitment coming from me or anyone else I have talked to about it.

Always thought he would be great inside. May not be the athlete in coverage that Anzalone is but ND can still close strong

Say what you want about BK now, but one thing you've got to give him credit for is the job that he and his staff have done selling ND to recruits. The guys that we have committed today seem, as far as I know, sold on the school as opposed to a staff, a pipeline to the NFL, or pipedreams of being the next Percy Harvin. That's a great thing...for a number of reasons.

Randolph is a bright kid with a bright future. Kid has his head on straight and oh a little bit of football talent too. I honestly think he could play inside, although his pass rushing skills would get maxed there. But would add size, speed, athleticism in there. But with councell moving to inside backer, i see Randolph staying outside for the time being.

Hmmm...big Ben inside?

like the idea of councell inside if true, especially with our abundance of depth on the outside...surprised none of us thought of that before...neg reps to all of us.

Ben would need to bulk up a little bit IMO but I'd like the move. He's in all likelyhood gonna get passed by Jaylon at DOG

I can't believe I never thought of that before. Councell has got good size at 6'5'' 240 Ibs, but I have not seen enough of him to actually wonder if he'll work out there.

How did I miss this? When did he get moved to ILB? Or is it not public and you are just telling us now?

Yes and yes. I know he felt he had to gain strength to match up with TEs and linemen, but he was having trouble doing it while maintaining speed. Maybe moving to ILB is the solution ... he won't need quite as much straightahead speed ... agility is more important. (Does he have the lateral agility to play ILB, by the way? This caught me off guard.) And with Jaylon coming in, maybe they felt he was too good an athlete to waste on the bench, so they figured they'd try him elsewhere.

Or Okwara. He was a DOG this year and in the 2 deep when Spond was out early. Coaches liked how good he was in space.

I agree and mentioned it in one of the other 5 threads where we are having this same discussion. He could be an absolute monster in the middle.

We could move Spond to Will in 2014 to replace Fox. Jaylon could play DOG and Grace would play CAT. Boom problem solved.
