17 Weeks of Heaven....

...one week of hell! From September 1 to January 6th, we had 17 weeks of football heaven. And this week has been quite the ****-storm LOL.

I texted GB this morning and told him I was going into bunker mode cause I would be busy at work and didn't want to deal with the BK mess on message boards, and asked him to text me if he heard any BK news. So of course he texted me that Alex Anzalone decommitted. Fun!

At first I was shocked and pissed, but then I remembered that I just don't care about that stuff anymore like I used to. IT HAPPENS ALL THE TIME IN RECRUITING. Even when we have a historic season we get screwed. But guess what...we screw other teams all the time. We got Max Redfield, and no one is questioning his character. Gunner Kiel, Kapron Lewis-Moore, TJ Jones, Zack Martin's lil' bro, Everett Golson, Stephon Tuitt, Louis Nix (wasn't he committed to Miami at first?), Austin Collinsworth...the list goes on and on. Sure, I'd like to say some really mean things about AA right now, but eff it, he was never truly ND at heart anyways, so oh well. And besides that, we have plenty of guys who have gone through some changes of heart as well (not to AA's extent, but still).

Bottom line, for me, is that I've this happen far too many times for me to get pissed at it. And so now I'll just pray for AA to tear his ACL and have a nice life. JUST KIDDING!!!! I just hope we fill his spot, and that his replacement balls out. Life's too short to get worked up over these things every single year (cause you know it's going to happen - it always does).

Yup I overreacted. Sucks to get a commit but it happens. Now we know EXACTLY how LSU felt with Kiel. 12-0 got killed in the NC and than one of their top recruits switched a day before enrolling.

Hope we can get a MLB. We are really thin there.

I will be the one to say that decommitting from USC shows or an SEC shows good charachter, while decommitting from ND shows bad character. Its apples and oranges.

I hope AA repents, for his sake.

Word of advise guys, step away from the boards for a bit. Not saying you cut off completely but just relax. Seriously, I am not worried about Kelly, it sucks to lose Anzalone but that's recruiting.

ND is winning again, this is a hell of a recruiting class, just chill out man. Play some video games or read a book. These boards cause much more stress than necessary because too many people are reactionary.

I don't think he's going...I haven't since I heard he took the interview. Sure it worried me, but when I step back and think about it, it just doesn't make sense for him to leave right now, especially to THAT franchise (no offense Eagles fans LOL, but you guys have some serious roster issues, and a hungry, rabid fanbase to please. Like I was telling my buddy today at work, ND fans are demanding but we still have some really nice people following the team. But Eagles fans? Y'all crazy!).

I thought it was a salary ploy from the jump and I think so even more now that real mods are saying that sources believe it to by a leverage play, esp for his assistants. I think the timing sucks, but Anzalone flipping had nothing to do with it (wake up people, he was long gone and just looking for ANY excuse to leave - even the USC mod just came out and said he's been flirting with FL for awhile now behind ND's back), and as long as they get this thing wrapped up relatively quickly and we don't lose any recruits, I'm still good with Coach.

I think he'll eventually leave for the NFL, but just not for a few more years. Think Pete Carroll. As for replacements, I won't even entertain that yet because we still have our coach...

The ncg sucked but for a nd fan that the first coach i can remember coaching was bob Davis this was an awesome year. I have had more than my fair share of being harassed for being an nd fan over my time. It was nice to be on top if only for a little while.
