Who do we think will fill Zeke's shoes next season?
I'm gonna miss seeing him on the field!

I have to admit I didn't think Zeke would have as a good a year as he did. Top end speed or not, I can't recall one play I saw this year where he screwed up. And those Zubaz are sexy.

I wouldn't be surprised if they put Farley at FS and move Shumate to SS. Farley has exprecience playing back there and Shumate played some SS in high school. Redfield in the two deep behind Farley.

My MVP tonight.

Felt like he was the only guy on the field at times.

His heart bled.

I wish they had all played with his intensity.

He had a couple bad plays too... Nix would get my defensive MVP.

Zeke did play well, don't get me wrong. But he took some silly, silly angles a few times.

I feel like Zeke is getting way to much credit for how well he played. I thought he looked awful tonight. Not that anyone else showed up, but it seemed like he was coming down hill awful hard and they would bounce outside of him over and over again. I like Zeke but believe that some are giving him too much love.

Says the guy watching from his TV and typing on his keyboard. Way to go Homer....

Thanks for a great year Zeke!

NOT THAT ANYONE ELSE SHOWED UP!

Nix was out there battling two talented OLs on a bad leg. He went down in pain and came back and played.

Eifert was battling for every yard throughout the game.

I supposed Golson just sauntered into the end zone for that TD?

Russell got "scrapped" on a well planned, well executed crossing pattern. It wasn't a case of "not showing up" but perhaps that's all your wounded ego can process.

I recall a couple of tackles where Motta separated the receiver from the ball for an incompletion. I don't think you'll find anyone that he hit tonight that thought he "didn't show up". He played aggressively and you complain. If he played bend but don't break you'd still complain.

Motta didn't bring down everybody nor did Te'o nor Nix but Alabama does have some talent on their side, RBs, WRs, OLs, and 4th year QB. We got whipped but I didn't see anybody that "didn't show up".

Alabama put up an Olympic Gold Medal performance tonight and ND couldn't match it.

Getting beat doesn't mean players didn't show up nor that they quit.

You obviously didn't notice that despite a 4 TD lead Saban kept his starters in until the game had less than 4 minutes left. Why keep the starters in against a team that "didn't show up"?

Your post sucks.

our boys were outmatched physically tonight...no way were they outmatched mentally. Those "angles" zeke took were the result of a month off and playing the best/fastest team in the country. Zeke as well as the entire team played their behinds off and i will not stoop to insulting their effort. Zeke was one of the backbones of the team all year and I thank him for helping make this season so memorable for me. this stings and sucks, but maybe in a month or two i'll be able to remember enjoy what he and the rest of the team were able to do.

Zeke was overmatched athletically. Poor angles but missed tackles when in position to make them. Good career. But this is when talent matters most and he just wasn't there talent wise.

I think that is bull. Zeke is fine talent wise. Maybe he never saw the kind of speed he saw last night, but still I bet he goes on to play well in the NFL, where he jumps to the next level and adjusts to the speed. I believe last night was about the whole team not being prepared and being overmatched.

I disagree. Nohing bad against Zeke, I think he is a hard worker and he did wonderful things for this Irish team but TALENT wise, he's not close to the level of Hayseed or even Zibi. He may get a tryout and may be a special teams contributor, maybe. The whole team was not overmatched and I think they were prepared. Alabama was just better with better TALENT, which ND is getting that type of TALENT in these recruiting classes in the defensive backfield. That is where ND is lacking right now and they are filling those gaps with SEC caliber TALENT. This goes along with guys on the offensive line and WR too. ND is closing the TALENT gap and building TALENTED depth too. The future is bright! GO IRISH!

He gave it his all, is talented, is a wonderful human being, and I'm sure he's going to heaven.

That said, this was by far his worst game.

A career high in tackles, including hits that broke up passes, is by far his worst game?

Unfortunately yes. In this case, the tackles he missed, or the poor angles he took, were so much more bad than the tackles he made were good. He usually plays much better.

Your going to be eating crow next season boy. Just like irishpat did last year with Harrison smith (not Hayseed, smh).

Zeke was a superb talent and one of the best safeties in the country.

Yeah, so does everyone on the team. It was a tough game for everyone, but Zeke made a ton of plays and was called on to clean up other people's missed tackles way too often. He was asked to do things he normally doesn't have to. Sorry I think you are just flat out wrong here.

Your joking right? He played a solid game probably only second to Nix on our defense.
