Some 'Bama Fans Are Obnoxious Homers

Anyone else completely disgusted by the complete lack of class they've seen online? Every single article I read is followed by some user comments similar to this:

Notre Dame aint' seen no grwn man football like Bama plays!

Notre Lame hasn't played anyone all year!

Notre Dame got beat by Stanford, and should have been beaten by Pitt.

The trolls we've experienced the last month have definitely been irritating as well.

I understaND some smack talk, but this stuff is just laughable, or it was until I read it for 30 days straight. I want Notre Dame to win every single game to begin with, but I'm hoping that they curb stomp Bama. This would shut all of those SEC/Bama fans up really quick, and ending the SEC's run would be a huge feather in the cap for all of the players.

None of the "Yack-Yack" means a damn thing. Broad shoulders and a thick skin seem to be the order of the day.

Considering it's almost Sunday, I thought I'd keep it clean. I've seen some questionable language and grammar that I would never post on this site.

It is good to know that ND is being hated nationally for the right reasons again.

A person will always fall to a level of lesser knowledge - If you have a Doctrine and you are around a baby,... you will make baby sounds and baby faces to try to have a conversation with that baby.....

I too have read some of those posts and I read intelligent conversation turn into childish, meaningless banter coming from a once intelligent poster..... they fall to the other's level...... a.k.a. baby or child.....

You can go back to any thread (including I.E.) and see where someone will start intelligently and then someone posts something and it turns into an all-out baby-smack-talking argument....then someone (Old Man Mike) will post with wisdom, intellect, and (dare I say) aged experience and the posts that follow are all of a sudden intelligent again.... Thanks Old Man!!!!!!

Funny note, it's the only time I've received neg reps because the Michigan fan was liked by some. The whole sig with the score-board after the last few seasons of last second losses rubbed me the wrong way.

I'm about as excited as one person can be for the 7th! Just had my families' Christmas today, and got two ND tshirts, a pair of ND sweats, and a sweet stocking cap.

I've always said that I'd take at least two days off if ND reached the NC game, and I have.
We're living the good life my friends!

I have had discussions with pure Bama fans that want to know a little about the Irish from a fans perspective. Nothing more. They were not obnoxious and thanked me for the informative conversation and wished the Irish good luck in a genuine way. Others have been obnoxious as hell and want to tell you how bad the Irish are gonna get rolled. They don't care or know anything about the Irish. I say they are SEC homers. Bama fan is willing to listen especially if he doesn't know anything about the Irish. The media have perpetuated Bama's invincibility. Until someone beats them for title they deserve that. I have read up on Bama and watched a few games. I respect them and some of their fans. The internet trolls that comment on some of the articles must be really young because they say things like the SEC has always dominated. I am guessing they are teenagers.

To be fair, most of the people who comment after random articles suck, regardless of program affiliation. Just go to any, and I mean any, ESPN article for confirmation. It's like the Bang Bang group gone crazy.

I think with most fanbases, there are going to be bad fans and good ones. We've had a mix of both here for most of the visiting fans on this site the entire season.

When I was just out of law school and the first year of practice in this town in Colorado, I watched us play Alabama. The school claims 22 in all sports combined. Maybe that was it? I think under the most permissive standard, they're at 18 in football. Under the same standard, Notre Dame would be at 21, so maybe the store's full of secret domers.

I'd ignore the Internet if it bothers you that much. I've seen some absolutely PATHETIC Notre Dame fans on other websites (shoot, this one too) that embarrass the hell out of me, but what are you going to do? Nature of the beast. Fortunately I learned long ago to ignore Internet fans, especially comments after articles. Too many lowlife idiots out there, and you can't say those idiots represent a fan base. Go to a game to get a better idea of how they are...

You have to attack the fanbase when the team is rolling (no pun intended). Take pride in the fact the only ammo people have right now is ripping on the fans.

You are correct, sir. Good point. When I read some of the idiotic comments from any fanbase, I try to consider the source and the psychological motivation behind the comment and have a good laugh about it all.
