Sox sign Dempster. Not a huge Dempster guy, but on a 2yr deal I can get behind it. I am a big fan of these short deals they are doing.

Only way I see him moving is if they do.... And many teams would take him for cheap... He's a cancer because of his contract.

Chase Headley, Castro and with Ben Revere moving to the Phils i'm considering him too. The team as a whole sucks. I took over for a guy who basically made this team a train wreck.

Yeah. He had Posey and I picked up Trout last year before he got called up. None of the people in my league had heard of him, plus I had first pick which was nice.

Best part about this is... No Napoli, no Hamilton, no Dempster... Yeah, I don't see Texas making another run with their current roster... I also don't see the As repeating last season.

I agree with Tori on this but if i remember right he did say some bad things about the twins when he signed with the angels.

One thing to remember... The Halos are going to wrap Trout up long term within a year or two also... Arte's screaming "King Kong ain't got nothin on me!!!"

The Mariners won 116 games in 2001 shortly after Griffey, A-Rod and Randy Johnson had left town. Baseball is a weird game. Teams routinely add up to much more and much less than the sum of their parts, much more so than in any other sport. If I were a fan of a team in the AL West, I'd be very concerned that Nolan Ryan and Co. know what they are doing.

Interestingly enough, Sanchez was prized property in the Sox system back in the day. He was shipped to the Marlins in the Beckett deal (along with Hanley Ramirez) during the time that Theo had left the team out of frustration with Larry Lucchino meddling in baseball ops. I believe that had Theo not left temporarily, that deal never would have happened, the Sox may not have won in 2007 without Lowell and Beckett, but they would probably be a lot better off now. Not surprising that Theo still has a thing for Sanchez, but that's a lot of years for a guy that has been good-not-great.

Everyone was reporting Sanchez signed with Cubs, for five years. Tigers had a chance to meet or beat their bid. Tigers originally offered four year deal. Now it sounds as if Tigers have matched it at least. Sanchez has said he wants to remain a Tiger.

I like it more than the Pujols deal if only due to the length... one hell of a lineup... but if they don't get at least one more quality pitcher then I am not that big of a fan...

If they can get one more picther and hold onto Trumbo... then yeah, I like what they have done.
