You hit the nail on the head BIGe.

yes you are.

couple of big carries on that last fg drive and he's home run waiting to happen everytime he's on the field.

No, you're just caught in the moment of Theo's big game. Go sleep on it, and come back and support Wood.

"You're an idiot."

That's really all this post deserves.

Cierre's "dancing" has got us huge gains all year. He just had a bad game. I see running backs like Arian Foster "dancing" like he does in the pros. He's great at finding holes and knowing where to run. He'll be a damn good NFL running back.

the majority of Cierres runs werent North-South plays last night. They were stretch plays and with 8-9 in the box stretch plays arent going to have great success. When he got the chance to go North and South he did just fine.

Anybody else get the feeling that Cierre and Theo might have a night against Bama?

Because I certainly do. Both extremely competitive.

I can tell you one thing: Theo is not going to be intimidated or scared to hit these SEC guys hard in the hole. That guy plays the way I wish everyone would. I have zero doubt in my mind he is going to give us 110%.

I think Cierre is leaving, but that tweet may very well be about his finals and headed home to visit for Xmas or something else unrelated to the draft.

I mean, if it was about leaving for the draft, what would 'one down' even be referring to?

One final down, one to go until done with school forever? That is how I read it.

As a student, finishing a semester is a huge relief. You may interpret that as 'forever', but if you go on facebook/twitter, or anything else, you'll see that freshman, sophomores, etc, all say stuff about 'one more and I'm done. Can't wait!' about the semester.

No way to tell if he's talking about the semester or forever, but like I said, I assume he's leaving but don't take this tweet as the final nail in the coffin.

I might be the only person on this board who thinks Cierre will come back and that it is a good decision to do so. It is possible that he won't get drafted at all after playing second fiddle to Theo this year. Heck, Theo might not get drafted either. Cierre needs a year in which he owns the ND tailback position, and personally, I think he will shine if that happens. He's has too much talent to be a 6th or 7th rounder or to not be drafted at all. It would be a big mistake for him to leave early.

Not if he needs the money. He will have his ND degree and has a daughter to support. Improving his draft stock might not be the most important thing in Cierre's life.

I agree with you. What is important is whether the NFL, or even more whether Cierre does.

Right. As other people have pointed out, with the new rules draft position is not nearly as big a deal as it used to be because rookie contracts are smaller across the board and veterans get a larger share of the pie. Before, you wanted to boost your draft stock so you could maximize your chances of getting Sam Bradford money with your first contract. Now nobody gets that kind of money right away, so you just want to make a roster so you can prove you deserve that second contract.

There is no guarantee coming back next year would improve his draft stock either.

Do your thing young man.

Thing is, I think he has a better than average shot at not being drafted at all if he leaves this year -- maybe starting out as an undrafted free agent. Most of those guys don't get the looks that the drafted guys get. I'd rather be the starting RB at ND than not playing football at all next year. No guarantees either way, IMO.

He would play somewhere.

Even if he is on a practice squad.

NFL Practice Squad Salary, Rules, Player Eligibility - The Phinsider

...a practice squad player's minimum salary is $5,700 a week. There is no maximum amount for a practice squad salary, and teams in the past have paid extra to players to lure them from another team.

$5,700 X 52 weeks = $296,400

There's also a chance he comes back next year and gets hurt. That Golson gets better and the ball gets thrown more, also with GAIII and Carlise he still doesn't see feature back carries. Either way he decides is a gamble for him.

Barring injury there is absolutely no way he does not get drafted. I'd bet all my vbucks on it
