My view: USC will come out fiery. If the ND defense stuffs them anyway, then they will quit. But if they score, well, it's all they've got left that they might brag about, so we'll get a big effort out of them. Diaco will let those short passes happen like he's done all year. USC will gain some yards [if Barkley plays], but our redzone D will probably limit them anyway. We need to play a clean game. USC seems not able to stop a running QB, so Everett needs to do that [and no dumb heave-it-and-hope stuff].

We will grind at them and we will be the power in the second half; we have the in-shape muscle-studs and probably FIVE defensive All-Americans if truth would be honored. I, unlike some, would like to see Kiffin fired. There is nothing that advances your advantage over an opponent than instability in their staff, systems, athlete understanding of details. By the time that they recovered, we'd have established recruiting dominance [along with Oregon and UCLA] in their backyard.

First we need to put a lasso on their offense and just win.

Agree with this. If USC see's success early, it will be a game. If it goes ND's way early they will quit and Kiffen will end up the Cowboys next head coach (considering how his career has turned out so far).

IFF, KSU or Oregon lose, then I think it's better that USC lost today. They don't have much to play for, and if the old saying is true, a team takes on the personality of it's coach, those players will pack it in after our defense punches them in their loud mouths.

OK but in USC's opinion it isn't. As someone from LA I can verify this.

Dude come on.

Are you serious?

Jason: this is one of the biggest rivalries in CFB.

USC is our biggest rival. We theirs.

No other two teams have kept each other out of the Natty more.

From what I saw they do not tackle well and do not have the stamina to hang in the 4th quarter. They actually look a little like past ND teams from 4-5 years ago.

I'm hoping for a little help this weekend. O and KSU go down and the players get to be on campus with the 1 fired up for the week.

IMO ND is a greater rival (for SC) than UCLA.

Plus they would love to blemish our record.

I agree, we're a bigger rival. This will be their Senior Day too. Lots of reasons for them to be motivated. Biggest one being ruining our BCS chances.

I am not saying it is not a big rivalry, or that it means nothing. I am saying that every year I hear that "we are their bowl game". Its not true. UCLA is a bigger rivalry to USC than Notre Dame. USC fans want to beat ND, they care about the game, and they would love to ruin the Notre Dame perfect season. But this loss today, to UCLA means more. The game today to UCLA meant more. If today's game is the best USC has, that says more to me than anything. This is their crosstown rival, their chance to with the south, their chance to go to the conference championship, their chance to win the conference, their chance to go to the Rose Bowl. All of that means more than Notre Dame. USC players have been quoted saying that Notre Dame is their grandparents rivalry game.

Defense hasn't faced a group of receivers like this yet.

USC very well could give 2 sh!ts next week and rollover but I don't see that happening. I'm not saying ND is gonna lose but some of you act like this is gonna be some slam dunk

This isn't directed to you or anything but I am absolutely sick of hearing the "Notre Dame hasn't faced a kid like *place name here*". They said that for LeVeon Bell, Denard Robinson, and Landry Jones. That statement means nothing now

Yeah if I had to pick between Oregon and KSU. I would rather KSU win tonight

This is like saying UM is ND's biggest rival.

Not true.

Only noob fans say that.

Glad I bought tix a few weeks ago. The ND fight song will be echoing throughout the concrete walkways of the coliseum just like it did when I was there 2 years ago. I hate USC and all their pansy, floppy LA fans.

Smh. It's not just one player. It's 3 dynamic receivers and the secondary is still the soft spot in the defense. I know, I know they've played well to this point but this is their toughest test. But ok keep living in your little fantasy world and i'll be a realist

You're right, they are our soft spot on the defense. But how soft are they? They are ranked 26th in pass defense. That's pretty darn good for being the "soft" spot on the defense. Stats don't lie

Yeah but they haven't faced a group of recievers like this. That's all I'm saying.

In my lowly opinion USC losing today killed any outside chance ND had for the National Championship game should OU, KSU and ND finish undefeated. ND is in a no win situation next week. If ND wins, well they should win because USC had already lost 4 games this year. If ND loses well "we told you ND was overrated and would be exposed at some point this year". As much as I hate USC I really wanted them to win today.

Just beat the ever loving s*** out of USC and let the chips fall where they may.
