Kind felt the same way. I didn't want to be the only one to say it.

Eh, outside of the "most likely" part about no visits, etc. I thought it was legit. Seemed like a laid back kid who after seeing ND open up a can on Oklahoma (after Oklahoma opened up more than a can on Texas) decided that's who he wanted to play for. He's a kid who took his time, visited all of the schools he liked, and in the end decided Notre Dame was where he wanted to be.

You can understand him being less hyped in the interview than someone like Elmer, Bivin, etc. who were legitimate FANS of Notre Dame and knew that's where they wanted to go all along.

Friggin stoked by this pickup. Surprised there is such a discrepancy between all of the services.

No one's pulling the trigger on anything. Cole called them and said he was committing to ND. No doubt they were happy about it.

In watching the video, it just didn't seem like he had the buy in that the rest of the commits had.

Maybe I'm overlooking the situation, but I would take him in a heartbeat if he was genuine. Just hard to read from the rivals video.

Happy to have him regardless.

He just happened to visit twice with lukewarm reactions each time.

PS - good to be back

Ah, totaly mis-read your post. Working on spreadsheets at the same time. I can't let work get in the way of my ND posting at night anymore. I thought you meant his performance was not convincing, not his commitment. Sorry buddy.

If this holds thru NSD then Irish have struck GOLD. Reload on the D, that's what has turned it all around for us. Welcome CHL!

he commits and people are already talking about how shaky he is based on one little video. Gotta love the ND fanbase.

All the recruits say the same crap in these interviews, it shouldnt surprise anyone here. Deeb and Smith are about the only ones who have had interesting interviews.

nothing in that video was shaky to me.

he seems pretty level headed, took this recruiting process like a champ.

I also get the same feeling when I listen to bennett's interviews. Really laid-back never very enthusiastic. But at the same time he seems focused on the task at hand and just doesn't want to talk about it. That's how I took Cole as well.

Finally got around to watching his film... lot of playmaker in him... and he certainly has all of the physical tools to be a great corner in our system. 6' and fast and plays the ball well in the air... you can never really know if a player is going to have the technique/footwork to dominate at the next level, but he sure is a great prospect.

Soooo pumped.

Also looked like he was missing practice for an interview, who knows he might have been a little annoyed by the situation.

I just think that's his personality. He always said he didn't like doing interviews or didn't like the recruiting process. If you read his twitter he seems pretty jacked about it. He's just a quiet kid who keeps to himself.

This kid reminds me of Cliff Harris so much. That punt return was gross. Than I looked it up same body type, same weight and same weight as Cliff. Cliff Harris was big time so hopefully Cole Luke will be the same. Lets just hope Cole doesn't like going a buck 40.

From Keith

“This is a great get for Notre Dame,” 247Sports’ Steve Wiltfong told the South Bend Tribune. “It comes at a position of need, and he’s one of the top cornerbacks in the country. Bob Elliott has been working on him for a long time, and Kerry Cooks has gotten involved, too. They really did a phenomenal job.”

Just a few days before Luke’s commitment, Belles and Luke talked with Tom Lemming to discuss his recruitment. In the segment, Belles compares Luke to former Irish All-American Todd Lyght, a projection that would have Notre Dame fans quite happy.

Bob Elliot is just a Hero for ND right now. The guy just looks like a Professor of Football and is coaching like one right now. Kudos to him, would love to see more interviews with him and maybe some micc'ed up videos next offseason.

Leaving class just to cry with your boys in the hallway. Love y'all! @WowImGoodLookin @HBeemiller Finally committed! #IrishMob #Blessed
I don't think you have to worry about his video if he is crying tears of joy after committing.

Yeah he told Sapp he is shutting it down too. He just didn't sound convincing in the interview to me is all I was saying people. Like many have pointed out, it is probably just his personality given the way he has taken his whole recruitment.

SIAP, but I noticed that Sapp quoted Luke as complimenting our coaches, and after saying how great they are Luke tacked on a comment about how he knows they will be there for a while. (I want to copy the quote but don't know if it's kosher ... premium info and all ... anyway that's the gist)

Makes me wonder if the rumors about Mack Brown leaving/losing his job played a role in the decision.

I could be reading something into nothing though.

THIS. all of our CBs this year are pretty much FIRST TIME STARTERS. How many big plays have we given up through the air to this point??? Great job coach Elliot, great pick up.

I honestly think the relationship and history Diaco has with Elliott and Cooks is what will keep him here for at least 2-3 more years. What an absolute homerun hire Elliot turned out to be. Just be thankful that Iowa paid Ferentz all that money.

Can't say this enough. Recruiting, player development, by Diaco's side in the booth during games. He's clearly invaluable to our program.

I'm gonna predict that he changes his cell number real soon...why would that even be posted in the video? Seems like he would get alot of calls from ppl he does not know..

Doesn't Elliot coach the safeties and Cook coaches the corners...why is everyone giving Elliot credit and not Cook? Elliot doesn't even coach the green corners.

I think its because Elliot coached cooks and diaco that he deserves a lot of the credit.

Elliot coaching the safeties has given Coach Cook more time with just one position. It is all related man.

For all that have a II subscription. This is a post from rob cassidy (West Coast recruiting Coordinator for Rivals) on Cole Luke. I had to post this because the other day somebody asked the question who was better Willis or Luke and I without hesitation said Willis. From what I had read over the summer he was the real deal(I believe i used the term Elite). Cassidy basically says that Luke is very good and after watching him 4 times this year is better than Willis. Huge pickup for us even more so than i previously thought.
