Nice depth chart. To the extent it might help you, here's mine.
A few nits:
- Fuller probably starts his career at Z WR.
- I know they seem too tall to be interior linemen, but some of those guys you have listed at OT will be moving to OG.
- As others have stated, Brindza will probably be punting for us next year.
- So many talented RBs, and not enough touches to go around. Carlisle may see more time at Z WR next season if he can't break into the RB rotation.
- DB is where our projections differ the most. Won't bother reiterating what my depth chart already shows. Most notably, I expect Shumate to move back to SS sooner than later, and if any moves to CB from S, it'll be Hardy.
- If both Calabrese and Fox come back, Calabrese probably moves to MILB and "quarterbacks" the front-7. If the staff thinks Grace is ready for that, there's little reason to bring Calabrese back.
- Anzalone probably starts his career at WILB, and given our lack of depth inside, moving Rabasa to WILB probably makes sense as well.
- Deeb strikes me as a MILB, and Randolph as a ROLB.
I can't really disagree with any of this. I think Fuller as of now is probably a better fit body wise for the Z, but I don't see him playing immediately anyways because he's so slight. Maybe a redshirt year gives him enough time to physically get to the point where he can play the more physical X? Clearly somebody is going to have to move inside on the OL, but who? Elmer and McGovern both 6'6", Bivin at 6'7", and McGlinchey at 6'9"? With a QB in Golson who is at best 6 feet even, that could be problematic. I like Shumate at S as well, but he's been so good at CB this year I hope he gets a chance to prove he belongs there. Totally agree if Fox and Carlo both come back they are our 2 starting ILBs with Carlo at Mike, I just don't think they both do. I like Anzalone better than Randolph on the outside, but as I said, the positions for the new guys are pretty much just straight up guesswork at this point.
