Gotta think Wood is gone. 3rd-5th round barring a huge second half or a decline in his play/another suspension.

I wouldn't be surprised if someone took a flyer on Slaughter in the 6th or 7th round.

Put it this way about Motta: Has he been good at times? Yeah....

But most his highlights are of the tackle variety.

Again, lets see how he does this weekend.

It will be interesting to see what happens to Slaughter.

My guess at this point is something like this:

Manti Te'o- Early Round 1
Tyler Eifert- Mid Round 1
Kapron Lewis-Moore- 3rd
Zeke Motta- 4th round (probably has the most to prove the rest of the season, could move up higher)
Cierre Wood- 5th round
Braxton Cave- 5th round (he will wow at combine tests and get moved to guard)
Jamoris Slaughter- UFA (probably would have been a mid-rounder before injury)
Theo Riddick- UFA

Martin and Watt stay. Watt is most likely to leave though.

I pray to God that Nix stays. He might get projected to go in 1st this year though :(

My prediction:

Manti - #10-15 Overall
Eifert - Early Second Round
Kap - 4-5th round
Cave - 4-5th round
Wood - 6th round
Motta - 6-7th round
Slaughter, Riddick - UFA picked up

I'm in agreement with most of this. Though I think cave is more around 5-7. I think Zeke will go higher and Wood will return.

Wanna make a vWager on Wood?
Not really. He missed two games already this year (teams are concerned about his character btw) and isn't in the starring role like he was last year. He should come back one more year to clear up the character concerns and raise his value.

I'm confused. Then why not wager?

Worst case scenario for draft we will still be ok in 2013? I have thought about these scenarios since MSU.

And Cierre won't come back. He will be splitting carries with Carlisle and Atkinson just like with Riddick and Atkinson this year.

Safeties rise late and the late 3rd early 4th is the usual area where the 2nd or 3rd tier go. I don't see why Motta would go later than Zbikowski did. They are both tacklers who suffer in pass coverage, and Harrison Smith doing so well will help his stock as well.

Plain and simple....Zibby was a playmaker. Great ball skills. Motta hasn't shown me any of that.

Looks like you are wrong about Motta too

Not yet, at least.

Come on. Motta has been AVERAGE at best this season in the secondary. He's a strong tackler, but not very good in coverage.

Like I said, OU and USC will test him early and often. We'll have a better idea of his cover skills after those games.

No one mentioned Nix. The kid is eligible and the way he is playing/his size and athleticism/ position he plays makes him a VERY real possiblility for a top two round pick if he left. Is there any confirmation he stays? If Donatri Poe can be a top 11 pick with showing very little skill at such a low level Nix could easily be a top two round player, I would bet even a first rounder.

He's a very interesting play. I think a lot of scouts are waiting to see how well he does as the season drags on.

He has been awesome up front. In the backfield on nearly every down.

I guarantee you that not one scout will give a rat's arse about Harrison's play in coorelation to a completely different player of the same school/position.

I just hope he doesn't put his name in to figure out where he would go. I think that could mean the end of his days at ND if he does.

Players don't "put their names in to see where they go". The NFL provides players a draft grade and they evaluate if they think they will go higher/lower. If he gets an agent, it is a done deal no matter what.

They don't just provide you with a grade if your an underclassman. You have to give your paperwork to the advisory board. So yes in fact they DO "put their names in to see where they go". It's pretty obivous that they don't tell them where they will be picked exactly but they give them a pretty clear ballpark.

That's all I was saying. You weren't very specific about what you meant and it read like you meant that if he went into the draft, it was over for us. Which is obvious.

I think that if gets a draft grade, he wont be happy with what they tell him.

Theo is too slow to make much of an impact anywhere in the NFL. Don't think he will be drafted.

Agreed.

Isn't it wild that in 2009 his freshman season, he was the fastest player on the team?

As far as Martin goes, I like the fact that his brother is on the team. It should be a pretty strong factor into making the decision, especially if his draft stock is not that great by the end of the season.

I've heard that Martin's draft grade wouldn't be so high because he has shorter arms than NFL teams want at LT. I think he'll come back.

True that. If that were the case, Miami would have 22 guys going every year.
