Check out the ICON video, I've got it set to the correct time. He is in the backfield, I wonder why? My guess is for him being back there is in case something goes FUBAR he can clean it up and make sure they don't score.

They actually showed him on the sideline tapping his chest and asking the coach to go in before the play. I said to my wife, Manti is going in on offense!

i think its more of a symbolic thing than anything. BK had some of the Red Caps in on V formation last year if my memory serves me

He wanted to boost his heisman chances by being on offense!

You serious Clark? Standing 15 yards behind the line of scrimmage while we take a knee does absolutely nothing for his Heisman hopes. He is our best tackler and would be the last hope if something stupid happened.

think they use it as LAX said as a safety valve as a just in case...but the reason Manti is there instead of someone else according to my perspective is more of a honor/captain ...he is the leader of the ship...i feel he also demands respect so possible less chance of scuffle

If they somehow bobbled the snap I wouldn't have thought twice about BYU scoring with Manti back there.

that would have been (for lack of better term)...an awesome finish to the game. We **** up and looks like BYU is going to score for the win, then out of nowhere T'eo flashes and knocks somebody's head off/knee down.

To me: nothing more then respect for Manti. BYU was a big game for him for personal reasons.

Musburger: And Dan, the Mantisman is back on the field, he's now playing offense!

If we're up by two scores (and it will be the last play) lets snap it to teo and let him punt it!
