This sooner fan is by no means predicting a blowout by OU.
This game is going to be very challenging for the Sooners.
Like some of you have said here, if Landry Jones is playing confident, then I like our shot. If you all are able to get pressure on him, then I don't feel as comfortable.
And for the person that said our rush defense is average. I wouldn't say that so much.
Most of the rushing that came against the defense has came late in the game. Same with most of the points scored and passing yards.
Sans turnovers that have resulted in TDs ( during the play of the turnover), and special teams scores against OU, the OU starting defense is giving up less than 8 points per game. The starters are also allowing less than 165 yards passing and 145 yards rushing per game.
So the starters for OUs defense is right there with NDs defense.
That said, from watching quite a few of the ND games, the ND front seven looks great, but not very fast. The big linebackers will have a problem covering the spread offense when they have to cover WRs and the smaller faster RBs.
And the Belldozer. Don't fool yourselves. There has been some very good defenses OU has faced and not one has stopped it.
I do feel if there is a team that can, it will be ND. But don't be surprised if there are some new wrinkles in that package that will throw ND off.
That said, come on down. Have a beer. Talk football, and have a safe and great time.
