What a great day. The ND win was actually the 2nd best thing that occurred in my day. My nephew called me from Zuroc Afghanistan today and we talked for over an hour, what a thrill. West Point grad in 2010 that lost 3 of his classmates this summer over there. God Bless him, our military, the Irish and the USA.

God Bless him. We thank him. Thank you for sharing this. Our thanks to your nephew and all of your family. Godspeed to he and all his comrades.

Puts things in prospective. This game doesn't mean crap. USA

Grimes against Stanford? That was a touchdown if it's the one you're thinking of. Floyd at Michigan was another bullshit call that went against us.

Grimes is who I was thinking of. He had the fantastic presence to mind to cradle the ball top and bottom whitle flying through the air stretched out to assure a TD ruling by the refs. That call was criminal.

Tell him on a day we ND fans rejoice our victory, we share your joy in his welfare and his grief in the loss of his brothers.

From all of us, "Be safe out there!"

Smutty is good . Some other solid pumpkin ales are , Imperial Pumpkin from Weyerbacher Brewing
Pumking from Southern Tier .

Celtic 2 - Barca 0 for next Tuesday . We can hope .

Shipyard is pumpkin pie in a bottle... Any points at all over the next two games would be huge...

Newcastle Crest . Does this place have a Hoops crest. .

Maybe a Sevco / Newco crest .

No they don't, only BPL crests... I decided I had to pick an English team about five years back...
I set the criteria then picked...

The English club had to have a good relationship with Celtic, they had to be from the North ( I'm a Scottsman, rooting for anything from England is hard enough) ... had to be legit and have a good history... and they couldn't be from Manchester... Basically it takes some heart to root for them...

BYFAR Newcastle fit that description best...

Quick work from that guy.

Perhaps it was the most elaborate trap ever set. Convinced there was nothing to worry about after discussing a potential trap game all week, the No. 5 Fighting Irish fell into one anyway. Looking sloppy throughout the game’s first 30 minutes before scoring the only 10 points of the second half, Notre Dame escaped against BYU, winning 17-14 on Saturday afternoon.

Snap judgments: Notre Dame 17, BYU 14 | Inside the Irish

That decision to punt was one of the silliest calls I think I have ever seen. There is soooooo much that can go wrong on a punt. Why not go for it? Or even kick the field goal?

Can we change the name of the IE GameDay Thread to "Snap Judgements"?

Yours are on the mark. Most of our GameDay quips couldn't hit the side wall of a barn from the inside.
