One thing to remember, though...... forward progress being stopped does not automatically end the play. In a case of forward progress being halted, the play is not over until the whistle is blown. So his forward progress could be stopped, but the play still be live because no whistle was blown. I know that many people have said that the line judge running in from the sideline to mark the ball is evidence that the whistle had blown, and the play was over, but I don't think so. If you look at the replay, the line judge was running in to get a good view of the eventual spot of the ball, but his arms were not extended above his head, signalling the clock operator to stop the clock. This would indicate that the play had NOT been blown dead yet. I don't think the play was a TD, but I think we ought to be objective about it. There *is* an argument for him scoring. But, in the end, I think that argument falls short because there is no conclusive evidence, to overturn the call on the field.
