even though he's not from the south we can be assured that being from cass tech the dude's got speed and prolly a bit of an edge too that we like to see on the defensive side of the ball, similar to bennett jackson on this year's squad.

if he were committed to us right now, he might be the best DB committed.

If you are taking one you wait if you are taking 2 then I would put on a full court press on this kid. He should have some better offers than he does. I feel like those USC kids are just looking for a free trip cant see McQuay going to ND either (you could wait it out and he could fall into your hands).

I agree that we should offer. I would also normally agree with the USC assessment, but if we keep playing well kids might wake up and realize that they are about to sign up for Lane Kiffin. To me, choosing Kiffin over Kelly is the equivalent of choosing Miles over Muschamp (in SEC land).

I dont get that comparison. Those Cali USC commits are not going ND even if you win a National championship this year

The comparison is, imho, that Muschamp seems like a realtively normal human being while Miles is a goon.

You'd be suprised what happens when ND is good; we get our share of California kids. I say you'd be suprised, but a Florida fan should be well aware of how top recruits jump on a bandwagon. Look at FSU v. UF over the last few years.

I know no one feels this way but me...But, I just have a gut feeling Hawkins ends up signing with ND.

Guys don't hate me for this but I have been thinking about what this situation reminds me of at it finally came to me. marcus rios from last year. Solid CB that we probably could have gotten but we slowed played him and missed out. Now I am not saying it will happen again but can anybody feel me on that.

I agree. I think the difference is that Marcus was ready to early enroll in December and we needed him to commit in February. Just bad timing before the perfect storm of decommits, transfers, and non-commits from other top DB's hit the Irish.

Not sure if Hill is looking to early enroll but with the remaining spots left down to about 3 or 4 ND can slow play some guys while waiting on players higher on the board.

The coaching staff has a plan and is executing it really well on the recruiting trail right now. A lot of guys waiting in the wings if someone decides to jump elsewhere. That hard work will pay dividends on National Signing Day. Don't see ND being left at the altar like they were last year with a few key guys.

We are in a great spot to slow play right now. Obviously, things can change very quickly...

ESPN said he may not make it tomorrow. Per HS DC. Was coming with 14 target J Campbell

I have liked this kid's game for a while now too. I just don't feel he's quite as elite as ND was shooting for in this class.

I think thats a huge pick-up for Michigan. They need some serious help in the secondary and I really like this kids game. It also gives Michigan another player out of Cass Tech. That never hurts.
