Slow offensive second half, except two important things worth noting:

1. That drive when they were at their own 3 and drove out to midfield was really the backbreaker.

2. No turnovers -- While Golson grows and matures, that's what they need: make a few plays, stay calm and don't turn it over. Just huge.

fair enough.. to each his own.. I'd feel extremely disrespected if that was me, but maybe that's just me.. still makes me mad, oh well.. I'll drop it

I don't think it was disrespectful. The game was essentially over and Rees came in to hand the ball off a few times. We're going to need Golson this year and there's no need to risk an injury run some clock...particularly after having witnessed some of that bs that happened on the kneel downs. I'd hate to see Golson get hurt on a cheap shot while merely trying to run put the clock.

I know going into this game that the 1st team defense allowed one first down conversion in the 2nd half. I think after tonight that total is at 3

So Michigan States Defense was better than Purdue's? I am not sure. Linebackers yes. Gholston of course. Db's not so much.

73 players traveled, 55 played in the first quarter! My whole point has always been, what will happen when 60 can play?

Shumate is going to be unreal.

Springman was awesome.

Day, na-na-na-na-na!

Why do you think that offenses deflate when they play ND.

How many players caught a ball tonight?

Who is glad Wood's legs were fresh.

TJ is awesome! He definitely has it this year.

What about that Goody TD, a career catch?

Great things!

One thing that could improve is our catching out of the backfield.

5 Things:

1.) I can't believe the growth in terms of managing the game in EG from last week at home to this week in a hostile place. Incredible job young man.

2.) Secondary has made similar strides especially the freshmen, great job KR and ES. Bennett is also a player back there.

3.) D line is sick. Repeat...S-I-C-K. Enough said.

4.) Cierre is a stud, glad to have him back.

5.) Manti Teo has been a gift and a blessing to college football, he would have been wherever he chose to go, but I am so glad we as Notre Dame fans have had a front row seat and an opportunity to experience the growth of this young man. He is exactly what we say we are, exactly what we portray to the rest of the NCAA, and exactly why we are and always will be relevant. May God Bless and keep you while you grieve your loved ones and always.

I love that we won.. I feel bad for EG because he earned to play it out.. I don't understand why he would take him out.. it makes no sense to me, so I was wondering if someone could make sense of it and explain it to me.. it's a legitimate thing to talk about

Holy sh!t dude, are you EVER happy? Golson was estatic...why aren't you?

Talk about making a mountain out of a molehill. I was at a bar...no one cared. I came home and have been on 3 Irish sites...no one cares. The game was over, Rees played mop-up duty, game set match.

Enjoy the win!!!

Also, I'm sure Golson was happy for Tommy to get in there too. Tommy has done a TON to help this kid. He's a mentor and a coach to Golson. This is a team and I'm sure Golson was pumped to get the W and not even need to play it out.

Not sure if this has been noted, but every player (at least none linemen) had a armband with the playbook on it. Really helped Golson speed up the play at the line I think.

Herbie and Brent noted at the beginning of the game that ND had them because an assistant strength coach had changed jobs from ND to MSU. Whatever the reason the effect was faster play calling.

It's 3:42 AM here in California. I woke up and had to look again just to make sure I wasn't dreaming. WOW! WE WON!

They said during the game that this was the first time in like 10 years kelly used them. And this would be the only game that they used them. But I think it did help out i would like to see them keep using them.

Haha... I just finished re-watching the game. I've been up all night with my son so I figured it was as good a time as any!

Tommy was in because it was mopup time and Kelly didn't want Golson to get hurt on a freak accident.

WTF, how are you honestly even thinking about that?

2 things

3-0 baby!

I love Manti Te'o.

I will add a third. Bob Diaco in the middle of an emotion choked speech, likened their play to being like, "Freddie Kruger running around out there . . . "
