It totally makes me nauseous to see so many of you thinking we can't beat Michigan. We have them beat every year before we slip up and do something stupid, like not turn around to look for the ball sailing through the air. But this is Kelly's 3rd season, time to shut the haters up. This offense we are going to have is going to be different than anything we've seen since Ron Pawlus was sucking eggs for us.

I am optimistic not only because I want ND to have a great season, but some of you are starting to get a little douche-ified in your unwavering stance on Michigan and their ability to beat us, and as a ND fan who lives in Michigan, I'd love nothing more than to run screaming through the streets waving my irish flag and acting like a total crap talking fool when we win that game, here, on facebook, and real life. I will be completely unlivable, and I'll enjoy every second of it!!!! ND will go 11-1 I think we may lose to OK. That's it.

NO OK, IF anyone USC. I would take a four win season if you could guarantee the four wins would be OK, UM, USC & MSU.

Your hypothetical schedule for BYU is irrelevant, my friend.

Those "outcomes" are strictly your opinion.

thanks for missing the point of my post ENTIRELY... I am disappointed, you usually have quality posts.

Oklahoma's Oline is beat up, their starting line will have a combined 4 starts (they are losing 59 games of experience on that line from last season). Even if they begin to gel by the end of October, ND's line will be a lot to handle for them. If our linebackers improve on pass coverage, and we generate a disruptive pass rush, we could neutralize Landry Jones. A miracle is not needed to do this.

Also, their defense isn't that great either. They let up 400+ yards to opposing offenses 6 times last season.

This game is definetly winnable, and will probably be a team that doesn't live up to the hype on our schedule. They could have 2 losses by the time we play them.

Where is the LSU beating Alabama dream game? USC beating Oregon dream game? Texas beating KSU dream game?

Is that part of the dream season? I think it is.

To me, that doesn't matter. A 12-0 ND would make it over any team except the #1 squad in the nation. It's in our hand now.

How about a irish miracle season, fellas? (bump)

The unchanging, hopeless look
Out of which all miracles leap
--James Dickey in At Darien Bridge

Texas (changing offensive schematics, young team, 6-7 last year. ND by 24+, start 1-0) Virginia (recruited better in the last few years, just not enough talent to keep up with Irish, improve to 2-0) Georgia Tech (defense doesn't seem to have improved much, looked good against Miss. St. but deep Notre Dame LBs and Secondary prove too much for the yellow jacket's offense by shutting down the triple option with speed. ND by 3-10, move to 3-0) UMass (Finished as one of the worst teams in the FBS, no shot, ND = 4-0) Clemson (Very tough road game and environment, however, D won't be as good as last year and Malik keeps offense in check by winning the turnover margin. D gives up a decent amount of yards on the ground to Watson but his lack of experience loses the big one, ND in OT or by 3, 5-0) Navy (always a tough game but Offense will score at will and Defense will hold with more fresh and healthy legs. ND by 17-28, 6-0) USC (Turns out not to be as good as they were hyped in the Pre-season. Kessler has Matt Barkley meltdown mid-season, irish win at home by a TD, 7-0) Temple (ND played them well last meeting and should again this year after 2 weeks of rest from the bye. ND just scores too much for a subpar Temple defense, ND by 24 improve to 8-0) Pitt (Young Pitt Team plays ND in a so called trap game, Folston and the O-line prove to be clutch in the 4th. ND wins a close one, by 7, 9-0) Wake Forest (Wake Forest has been a bottom tier team for quite awhile now, with the ACC getting deeper and deeper, a worn out and depleted Deacons squad gets throttled by 35, ND improves to 10-0) Boston College (BC plays ND tough as they always do in a Defensive battle. Malik turns it over once or twice but lack of BC offense and Notre Dame depth wins them in a physical game by 10 or 14. ND improves to 11-0) Stanford (Another tough defensive battle but under-looked Stanford may have something to prove. ND by 3-7 in a close one, scrape by to 12-0)

Damn you, triple gif'er. This is just lazy.

And ND doesn't need a miracle season, we just need to play to our potential, maybe slightly above.

Thanks for clarifying...I thought I was seeing triple from last night. Also, I agree that we don't need a miracle season. We need to play like we are capable of playing, stay healthy, and have the ball bounce our way just a few times.

I agree but especially with the bolded hasn't '12 been the only season with Kelly that has been somewhat healthy? Even that yr we lost two starters within the first three games in Slaughter and Lo Wood.

Totally forgot about this thread. Everyone rep the OP, PJWhitfield. Dude called it, although it looked like crazy Kool-Aide talk at the time. Dude hasn't been back since last season, we need some of that magic again.

Maybe lightning will strike twice, shake down the thunder!
12-0, we're winning the playoff!

I agree. I remembered this thread and thought I'd resurrect it for what it's worth. Although I agree with the others that it wouldn't be a Miracle if ND ran the table in the regular season, it is hard to do nonetheless. I still believe a redemption championship year like this one could closely be considered a miracle from the late season injuries last year. ND 42 TX 10 tonight.
