Well, I wanted to post this yesterday, but didn't get to it in the midst of all the festivities. And, I hesitated to annoy you all with my personal amusements. But, I just find I can't resist. So:

YESTERDAY WAS THE 50th ANNIVERSARY OF THE FIRST GIG OF THE GREATEST ROCK 'N ROLL BAND IN THE WORLD--THE ROLLING STONES!

The all and everything in music. You've got the sun, you've got the moon, and you've got the Rolling Stones! Spent all day yesterday driving around (fast!) in the 'Stang convertible in the bright sunshine with the Stones cranked to the max. Great to re-live your youth sometimes, even if only in your mind.

So, sorry guys. Just a blast of exhuberance here. Had to share the joy.

Even if nobody else here understands, I bet DShans does. He probably gets the same rush when listening to the greats of his youth (like Rudy Vallee and Al Jolson, or somebody.)

I thought I'd be the only one who'd recognize the day. Then I remembered your avatar. I've got a tattoo with that image. It was done over 20 years ago, so the ink is kind of faded. I listened to Goat Head Soup, Their Satanic Majesties Request, Beggars Banquet, Black and Blue, and Some Girls all day in tribute.

It's only rock 'n' roll (but I like it).

Hey! Don't go dissin' my posse! And don't forget (Lady Day) Billie Holiday and Dinah Shore (she did a smokey version of "Blues In The Night). Trust me, I cut my pubescent rock and roll teeth on the likes of The Stones, The Animals, Little Richard, Chuck Berry and The Kinks. Elvis was a bit too derivative and commercial for my taste.

When a band at a dance at my high school cranked up "Let's Spend the Night Together" my enthusiastic singing of the lyrics got me in hot water with my date and a priest and nun or two who were chaperones.

"Hey, Hey, My, My; Rock and Roll Will Never Die."

Love the Stones. Crazy talk to suggest they're better than the Beatles, though. Being honest, if I was limited to an hour of music, I'd take an hour of Zeppelin's best stuff before an hour of Stones (comparing whole catalogs the Stones are better, though.)

Stones... Beatles... Zep... Can't go wrong with any of these... I'll take Clapton right there with me also to be honest

...the things you wanted, I bought them for you.

Graceless lady, you know who I am. You know I can't let you...

Slide through my hands.

Love me some Stones.
