I'm a traditionalist and would rather ND stick to their regular uni's..........green jersey every now and then. IMO, goofy designs that teams like Oregon use are just that, goofy!

I'd like to see a brighter green on the Jerseys, similar to the green from the Michigan game last year, but that's about it. Maybe orange and green striped sox too, with a shamrock on the helmet.

I want the same jersey from the UTL game for our game against Michigan this year, but with the colors flipped (so green with white numbers). I don't really mind the shamrock on the helmet but I guess I'd rather see plain gold.

The main change for this year is a new GOLD for the pants to match the helmets better. Cant wait to see what the NEW uniform looks like though. I am a huge fan of the jerseys we wore against michigan and the helmets against maryland and michigan are pretty sweet too.

Has this been confirmed? Because it would make me very happy. I couldn't have imagined a more perfect upgrade to the uniforms last year than the new helmets. The pants not matching those glorious helmets is my last complaint.

Gold pants, Green Jersey, Gold Helmet.

Have the pants and helmets match like some are saying. Have the jersey be kelly green like the Michigan stripes..

No orange. Never Orange.

Brits out.

Yes, they will have new pants to better match the helmets next year. Confirmed

Did those of you who say 'never mess with the helmets' miss these bad boys?

Personally, I love them. And every minor adjustment that's happened since BK has been here has been a homerun, IMO.

One of the fantasy camp teams was wearing a green version of the UTL jersey used for the Michigan game last year. It looks very sharp.

Tomorrow at One Foot Down we'll have a uniform concept many here should enjoy. I'll holla back with the link later.

Start linking to your articles here, Eric. Otherwise I have to do it, and I'm lazy.

Of course, Whiskey is just having a good news hangover . . .

There's always "news" somewhere, if you're willing to dig for it.

I'm more concerned that Eric is too proud to pimp his links here for page views, and he shouldn't be. Damned fine writer.

I noticed that our content is linked in the Notre Dame News & Headlines section under the Blogs, News, and More forum. But I'd guess less than 5% of readers here check that out. I didn't even know that section of this site existed until not long ago.

We try not to do too much pimpin' but we will with the uniform stuff because there's a large audience for that stuff here.

That's news to me! Don't get up; I'll show myself out.

In the immortal words of Ice Cube, "pimpin' aint easy but it's necessary." I wasn't being entirely serious, either. Of course I'll continue to post your stuff to the front page here, but you shouldn't hesitate to post your articles here either.

Those are nice. Up to date in terms of "tech," w/ but keeping everything traditional. Like the ankees uniforms, it makes us look like part of something that's been around for a long time and doesn't require a gimmick (just like the Tide).

I am fine with a little change here and there, but I really thought the uniforms for Maryland barn-storming game were atrocious. They looked like Roller Derby unis.

The only part that I liked about them--and this is said as a Terps bball fan--is that they were totally disrespectful. It was like we were reminding a Tier II football school to not get too uppety.

As far as changes for big games, I can do a dark green jersey, but that's about it. I'd rather win in Navy (Marian?) and Gold.

I like it except for the removal of the monogram. The monogram should've never been removed in the first place. It's one of the special things about nd football.

I like the monogram too, but I wouldn't exactly call it a special thing about ND football.

It's "only" been used from 1986-2004 and 2010-present.

If age is a prerequisite for being special, consider that the monogram would be as old as the "Play Like a Champion Today" sign if not for Weis years. It's obviously a point of personal preference, but in my opinion its a unique thing that should always be present on a ND jersey from this point on. In fact, I made a statement that bringing the monogram back to the shoulders was a part of the "healing process" in changing the culture from "ME" to "ND" that BK was attempting at the beginning of his tenure.

Just my opinion.

That's a fair point. I like the healing process aspect to it, but I obviously don't hold the monogram on the sleeves in such a high regard---especially in comparison to such traditions as the PLACT sign, where there's only been one sign and one sign only at the bottom of the steps.

Great work, Eric.

I like virtually all of the decisions you made: simplicity, brighter blue, and the old gold pants.

I'm also curious to see how Grooms and co. go about matching the pants to the helmets without it looking too fabulous. Old gold is probably a good compromise.

IMO I am not a fan of both jerseys. The home jersey looks too similar to Puke state U and unless Notre Dame is going to change the name to the Irish Fighting Cowboys the away needs a little more flair. I have always been a fan of the gold piping on the numerals.
